Looks like Andy gained those 8 seconds back. I would have liked to see the attack that dropped Contador, but understand it was important to show the winner :p. Chapeau to Voeckler for holding on.

Samu gets a grand total of 5 seconds.

Yes that was such a brilliant tactic:rolleyes:

And a ****ing Tour de France stage win! In the Pyrenees! In the first big, real mountain stage! Stop rolling your eyes and enjoy the moment.

OK, I guess I'm ready to concede that Contador is struggling. Chapeau to Voeckler, too! And Sanchez, of course.

Yes, thats what a whole years preperation went towards. A TDF stage win.

The guys won the olympic road race, TDF stage win doesnt exactly illuminate his palmares.

I hav enever, ever, ever seen Contador get dropped like that. Not once. Absolutely incredible stuff.

TdF 2007, the stage Rasmussen won and was then pulled from the race, stage 16 or 17.

Hows your prediction that only Contador fanboys are scared about his form and in rreality he is going to crush everyone going??
It's looking like I might have been wrong! Still, I will wait until the Alps before I pop the champagne.

Impressive rides by Sammy, the Schlecks, Cunego and especially Voeckler...

Hell, even Contador was impressive considering what he's been through this year aldready.

cunego looking good for a top 5 so far?

contador lost 13 secs. wow. even though he hasn't been looking good, it's still hard to believe he just got dropped.

That's it? The big push was too late. I thought if they had it in them, the Schlecks would go sooner. Contador was suffering and they might have been able to gain significant time.

Now I know Andy Schleck will never win the Tour. Sadly Contador won't either this year.

I bet andy does win it this year.
he rode like a really loser today.

Even when cadel drove on and got the gap he didn't care about anyone but ac. They closed it with ease.

I think we've seen this coming. Sure, you don't believe it till you see it, but the guy rode the hardest Giro ever and also fell down multiple times this Tour.

So it's not that surprising I guess.

Great Ride by Samu Sanchez for the win.

Contador is going to have to do something remarkable now he has lost more time.

Frank Schleck looked very good by so did Basso and Evans. Andy held onto them but not looking as good.

Not sure how many time Voeckler can do that but an excellent ride from him and Rolland.

A long way to go still, but the way Schlecks + Contador played around they will for sure give it away to Cadel. Great Australian things to come perhaps?

Kudos to: Samu, Vanendert, Voeckler and Jeannesson - the last three way better than expected!!

Awesome ride by Sanchez!!!!

In the overall: I think Evans is the man to beat, good for him after so many years of excuses he is finally delivering.

Alberto needs to get his act together soon!:D

Exactly. Not sure why folks are surprised that Contador was dropped. I was more surprised at how long he held on. It was impressive fight from him, but it is clear between the Giro and the crashes, he just doesn't have it this year (which is understandable IMO).
