the italians booed him because the crostis got removed and they partially blamed him because he was the first to say the descend was dangerous(even tho he was in favour to ride it in the giro iirc)

It's a spontaneous emotion that can overtake you. Nothing you can be really prepared for. Rage is good for Contador. Ask Armstrong about the 09 tour.

If this were the Tour start in Rotterdam, I'm absolutely certain he wouldn't get booed.
