you think contador is the only doper in the race?

Boo the uci, boo the spanish federation, but booing a rider that is about to ride 3000 miles, pointless and pathetic.

indeed.

he didn't cop it to bad at the giro.
IIRC he seemed to be pretty tweeked on a couple of occasions tho.
I think it wont be an easy 3 weeks.

Anyone have a screengrab of Cancellara's monstrosity?

Oh, and if Bertie did get booed, why would he then acknowledge them?

see? berto could have taken this presentation lightly had the crowd behaved properly- but he's going to be in rage from now on and win this race just to make a point to those booing him....... oh dear-I hope he won't become the Spanish "lance Armstrong" the French people loved to hate....

No

I think it's ridiculous and it shows again what pathetic people most nationalistic French are

Because the Belgians never did it.

The Italians never did it.

And the Dutch never booed him either?

lol yeh, he'll win because a crowd booed him.

That is the magical ingredient.

To show that the reception doesn't matter to him? He has a long way to go before he can wear his black helmet with pride.

Exactly. Now the disgraceful French know they got to him. They won't let up for the entire tour.

i love how people think this will make contador feel 'rage' that will mean he will own everyone

Surely he is self motivated enough to win that he doesnt need boos to motivate him.

Not so much as the French no. It's childish.

I hate andy schleck and hope he fails badly but I would keep my mouth shut. It's childish to boo people, it's something little kids do, not grown adults

the italians booed him because the crostis got removed and they partially blamed him because he was the first to say the descend was dangerous(even tho he was in favour to ride it in the giro iirc)

what i am afraid is that some stupid french tries to hurt him during a mountain stage, hurt him as pushing him off his bike or something like that.

It's a spontaneous emotion that can overtake you. Nothing you can be really prepared for. Rage is good for Contador. Ask Armstrong about the 09 tour. ;)

If this were the Tour start in Rotterdam, I'm absolutely certain he wouldn't get booed.

(mostly because the only news about cycling most people hear concerns doping, so they think everyone is on the juice ;))
