Maybe they are riding brixia tour or something? or has that race gone as well?

Haven't heard anything about Brixia going away, but if memory serves it is mid-to-late July.... Qinghai Lake has been moved forward, maybe Rabo wants to send a few tourists there

Cav rides better with a bit of frustration or anger inside him. I would have thought that much was clear from his career so far. If there's no ongoing dispute with the press or a particular team or a particular rider, then he creates it himself by attacking the course or the organisers. Every rider does what he needs to do to get himself in the right frame of mind for the race - and he needs some kind of beef to get the best out of himself. Get over it, guys.

He'll most likely win 5 and 8.

Awww.... Then I guess Slagter will just be riding to make up the numbers, since I don't think TGBM or Kruijsie are ever going to be in a position where they need a climbing domestique or anything.
I don't see why not.

Interesting that all three possible sprint stages are more or less uphill, I thought stage 8 had a flat finish, but it looks like 500 metres of slight uphill. Should play into the hands of guys like Hushovd, Boonen, Haussler, Breschel, Freire, Goss and Swift. Looking forward to it!

Brixia Tour has been cancelled.

Anyway, what with the Cavendish moaning, he should do well to remember that one of the defining characteristics of Switzerland is IT'S MOUNTAINOUS. Very, very mountainous.

The last two years have been dreadful routes designed with a home win in mind, and hence we've had more flat finishes than you'd think a Tour of Switzerland should reasonably have if it is to adequately represent a Tour of that country.

Indeed... I just had a look at the start list and the field is indeed quite weak with GC men... One of those guys could indeed contend for a podium.

Any ideas on online coverage? In English, available in the US? Eurosport is out for that, Versus isn't being clear about what they have online and Universal Sports doesn't seem to have it either.

If I didn't know any better I would guess that Leopard Trek's TdS team is their TdF team.

Count Swift Out against those sprinters, uphill he is not so great. Is Hendo riding???

Also GVA should go for the sprints as practice for the Worlds if he wants to be Belgium's leader.

On that parcours he'd be Boonen's last leadout man, not the main sprinter.. no way
