I'm still waiting for the money from all those Spanish wins in recent years. And for Dan Martin's earnings.Moondance said:Cardoso wins.... Congrats to him.
Perhaps he should consider sharing his win bonus with riders from all other EU nations in anticipation of the billions other EU states will be sending to Portugal this time next week.![]()

Parrulo said:you mean germany right? seems like are the only ones that are still in a "stable" economical situation. still i think we will avoid the FMI(IMF in english?). portugal always manages to do it at the last second. like when we organized the euro 2004 (that many people still say was the best euro/world cup ever) 6 months before the competition the swiss guy from fifa almost aborted the competition in portugal because "nothing was ready". oh well but lets talk about happy things shall we?
i think i read petachi dnsed but i am not sure

Thanks Angliru. Those types of comments don't belong in this forum.

As for Portugal, when your 10-year bond yield hits 7.63% (as it has today) you know your country is done for. It's pretty much impossible for a modern country to finance itself when it has to pay over 7% on its debt. You'll see.
As for the Netherlands we're currently fine. We should be since our finance minster looks like Jabba the Hutt's little cousin. Financial markets should know never to cross Jabba de Jager.![]()

Oh come on, Greece was hilarious. I loved the Greece-France game.Moondance said:I couldn't care less that the Netherlands lost to Portugal. I very much liked that Portuguese team, and was very disappointed when they lost to Greece (both times). I don't say these things because I hate Portugal, the opposite is true.
EURO 2004 was a feast of horrible defensive football. I can barely remember any entertaining match.
Holland-Portugal was entertaining. Horrible, but entertaining.Moondance said:EURO 2004 was a feast of horrible defensive football. I can barely remember any entertaining match.

I can't even remember that game, so yes I'm confused. Was that the one with the huge defensive mistake by Reiziger?Moondance said:Are you sure you're not confusing it with Portugal-Holland in World Cup 2006 (aka The Battle of Nuremberg)?
Portugal-Holland in 2004 was (as far as I can remember) a relatively straightforward game where Portugal were clearly the better team, Holland couldn't create anything, and Maniche scored a pretty nice goal.... But apart from that it was a drab game.

tune in to 2004
semis finals 2-1 for portugal and best goal of the competition for maniche
also greece was the only bad thing about the entire competion. portugal's football wasn't defensive at all and we had the best team. those damn greeks were just lucky and they didn't even deserve to pass the group stage imo. who plays a final with 5 defenders and like 2 defensive midfield players ....
