Stage 4 is up on is now.

No stage profile this time, ENECO organizers trying to surprise us? Well maybe a typical wind profile would be more in order this time ;)

Another sprint? Breakaway? Or a dreaded rider protest? (OK, no real reason for the third but maybe its the latest forum agenda that has me thinking this?)

Who will take the stage? Will there be a GC shakeup!?!?

Crud... forgot the year in the title, can a mod that likes the racing section add the year so its doesn't get messed up in the historical searches of the forum. Many a thanks to the racing follower mod.

It's just a bloody shame that the Eneco organisation seems to be forced to have an entirely flat race with usually just 1 semi-selective stage and an TT.

Is this what the UCI expects from them or are the organisers really that senile? Or do they just happen to like flat stages? :)

Utah has 11,742 meters of climbing.:D Of course most who are doing the Veulta wisely want nothing to do with that which makes for a less annimated Eneco. I just don't have time to follow both. Cheers.:D

Yeah, how dare they have mostly flat stages in a mostly flat country? Don't they realise they should be doing every stage in the province of Limburg? In fact, how dare anyone have flat stages at all - don't these people realise that people want summit finishes all the time? What the hell was the Tour de France thinking bothering to actually tour around, erm, France, wasting your valuable time with flat stages across the north and west, when instead it should have been going up Alpine and Pyreneean climbs every day?

P.s. why don't people complain that there are no flat stages in the lumpy terrain of the tour of the Basque Country?

It's the Tour of the Benelux, not the Tour of the crappy boring Netherlands(cycling wise).

I wish Netherlands was the country they avoided instead of Luxemburg.

They should ALWAYS have a cobbled stage and a hilly ardennes stage. The stages in Limburg have always been boring, so I don't care for them.

Perhaps a hilly stage in Ardennes, a hilly stage in Luxemburg and a cobbled stage. Rest of the stages should be flat(do those in the Netherlands along the coast) and one prologue/short time trial. It would be a well balanced route and most people would be happy. You'd have 4 stages that matter and 4 stages for sprinters.

Anyway, an even better idea would be to call it the Tour of the low countries. That way you can get away with using a large part of North-east France that was once considered to be a part of the low countries.

Well Luxembourg doesn't want to be in it, so it's Belgium and Netherlands. Most of that terrain is flat, especially in the Netherlands. Some parts aren't, but it's not as if a lot of those parts aren't already covered with their own top level races so why should they get over-exposure? What's the issue with a mostly flat tour across two mostly flat countries who have the fans to deserve seeing a bit of top level racing run past their doorstep? Go and watch the Tour of Utah if that's what you'd prefer, or one of the countless other non-flat tours that there are, or some of the ample other sports going on at the moment. The ENECO is not compulsory viewing.

blabla.
There are plenty of opportunities in the Netherlands and Belgium, but they don't use them.
Yesterday they rode through Limburg and rode over some hills only to finish 70k later on flat roads. Pointless.
I understand there has to be flat stages and that's fine, but Eneco Tour is just ridiculously boring and filled with silly stages.
