these poor guys, maybe they'll be in the winning break one day...and lose the sprint for the win to someone like Visconti

I think that Cav will not win this! the top of the hill is to close to the finish line: there is a difficult descend where Sky cannot pulled back who is in front, and just 2.5km of flat to do all the work.... not enough IMO. I will go for a fast man like Goss or Ventoso, or for an attack by Pozzato or Ballan or Battaglin...

You'd have thought the sprinter teams might dare to give them more than 3 or 4 minutes today - at least give them a 0.1 % chance

I was hoping for the break to fail today, but now that there are 2 dutchies in the break and 1 basque they are allowed to stay away and fight for the win.

Not that it will ever happen..

Why don't sky just form a breakaway about 20km before the start of the climb, if they can get a couple of minutes then it won't matter if Cav suffers on the hill as he will still be there for the finish.

Would be hilarious to actually see Cav in a breakaway, but no way other teams would let them

Not if Sky put all 9 men together at the front and then the final 3 or 4 all slowed down allowing a gap to appear. If Stannard really went hard noone would be able to close him down, the guy is a monster.

I guess noone has a chance against Wigans in the TDF then, as he'll just gap everyone on every flat stage

There's a big difference between doing it for 20km and for 3000km though. He'd be shattered by the third week if he rode like that.
