After sprint, I think sky will ease off a little bit and everything will come together

If Kristoff challenges Cav for the intermediate I guess it means Purito is aware of the points jersey situation.

Question on the points jersey 'battle': are there more sprint points at the line today compared with the mountain top finishes tomorrow and Saturday?

Cav gets 8 points, if he wins today he will lead by 34 points, which may be enough to win jersey considering that katusha doesnt care at all

stronger break anyway with casar and pinotti, both top 20 treats? so might get some help from other teams protecting their gc places, gc is money.

Since Cavendish clearly intends to finish this Giro there's just no way he'll do the TDF.

In 2008 he finished the Giro, winning 2 stages, and then went to the Tour where he won four stages before dropping out at the end of the second week.

The peloton have decided not to take it off Cav due to him being taken out by Ferrari unfairly. The scales of justice.

Strong group ahead, probably Sky won't be able to chase them down on their own.

Oh wait, they already have

Have to admire Mark Cavendish seeing through this edition of the Giro. I know he rued dropping out early in his first Giro, when he could have won the overall sprinter's jersey.

Surprising though, as it's an Olympic year, not to mention the Tour.

He was said to be too fat after his poor showing in MSR, so is he perhaps using this event to lean-off ready for the Tour and Olympics?

Opinions please?
