Using Beijing as a form guide, I'd say Dan Martin is the guy to beat.

Hats off to Basso and Sagan, for racing here before going to holidays.

Anyways, I noticed Basso does lots of smaller 1.1 races, much more than many others of his GT calibre do. Lugano, Insubria, Industria Artigianato, lots of Italian 1.1s, ..., respect for that.

Season finish today, with Japan Cup and Chrono des Nations. Maybe two Martins FTW, Dan in Japan and Tony in France.

This race is pretty good, I wish more WT teams will take part in this race but it is too late in the season.

The whole event is made very nicely;

-teams presentation
-ride with fans on closed circuit
-small criterium
-races for every category from masters to U23
-pro road race

It's a win-win in my opinion.

cycling has really big cult following in japan, with die hard fans that will do anything to get a picture with their hero. quite warming

way better than china right:rolleyes:

Looking through those pictures, it seems pretty clear that cycling is far bigger in Japan than in China. There's no doubt to me which of the two that deserves to have a world tour race...

Anybody else wondering how much one last win for Liquigas cost Ivan? As has been said Dan Martin has a good sprint whereas Basso most certainly doesn't.
