It's debatable, I admit. But Hushovd matched Cancellara on every important cobbled stone sector. Cancellara pulled off a surprise attack in the last few km just like how he surprised everyone at the Ronde with that last attack.

so did boom, I guess he was just as strong also.

That's simply not true. At some point, Ballan, Hushovd and Cancellara were off alone and nearly caught the front group, but then Cancellara decided to stop working.

dont forget boom was at the front before he punctured.

anyway my point was I take this p-r with a grain of salt. Canc. has nothing to prove, Thor has yet to show he can match spartacus, and until he does it is mere speculation.

That's true, Hushovd really looked mighty strong in some cobbles sectors. He even forced a bit of selection. But he lacked a bit in the final km

He could have just let Cancellara go because he knew Van Summeren would never be caught. It is however more likely he just lacked a bit near the end.

Next year will be his best chance to win. He's proved he can still sprint and he is also getting stronger. He will also have Ballan, Schar and Hincapie.

Thats ridiculous, van Summeren had a flat tire that didnt empty fast enough to need a wheel swap. Lets say it wouldve happened Cancellara wouldve caught Van Summeren definitely and Thor would be screwed.

Hushovd said he wasn't paying attention anymore and reacted too late because of that. And we all know if you let Cancellara have a few meters you'll never see him back again.

Quite a few longshots here, guess we'll have another year of somewhat surprising results....

I got everything right for the Worlds (RR, ITT, TTT) and had Wiggins for TdF. Not a single hit for the classics though…

Everyone please sum up your own score and let’s see who got the most right! :D

4 isn't bad. Predicting Gilbert's lack of success 12 months ago would have been utterly ridiculed.
