he has only gp lugano in the legs but also something close to 10000 km if i'm not wrong in the winter.he might fail again though,i can't know for sure how his endurance for the longer climbs is

i hope coldeportes will finally go in the attack

Horner as well...just a lot training miles...just arrived in Europe Monday, no racing in 8 months, but he's a never say die rider.

Me too (on the Colombians). Also, I hope Pinot shows something. He should be in reasonable form, and was hoping to do well this weekend, but must be struggling with the style of racing so far.

Pinot finished too far back today to expect anything from him. He wasn't in great form and should be better on longer climbs, still I doubt we will see anything from him tomorrow.

It happened a couple of times last year that he lost major time on hilly stages, and was then strong on the longer climbs (Ain and Dauphine, from memory). Still, he may well be too knackered from the 250km stages here, as you say.

I want Horner to win so it puts pressure on Shleck for the Tour. I want him to tranfuse so much blood it's coming out of his ears.

I like Nibali, but Kreuziger is looking good. If Horner is near-last-year-ToC form, then he has a chance too. One of these guys will has the trident.

Kreuziger looked pretty sharp, and like he has a point to prove. Still, high mountains this early, who the hell knows?

I think he looked good. Could be another struggle for Evans and Scarponi but hard to tell with those two sometimes.

nibali will show horner he is too old for this

People have been commenting on Horner's age for the past five years ! He has not lost much enthusiasm or ability it seems.

I hope Horner takes it. But I think Kreuziger will take the stage with Horner on his wheel. Nibbles should be right up there too. I predict Di Luca won't go as well on the longer climbs. Maybe start out seeming good but crack before the end. Velits kind of disappointed, maybe tomorrow he will be up there.

I know it won't happen here, for a number of reasons but especially because Evans' real goals are a few months away, but I would love to see a Cadel vs. Nibali battle here, because Cuddles vs Nibbles is something I've been waiting a long time for. It would look like a bike race, but it would sound like kids cheering on hamsters.

i think the climb is hard enough for the winner to win 20 seconds+ bonus on the second guy and if nibali manages to do this on horner i think he can gain the rest of the time on the short itt where i think nibali is better then horner.

but i am not very sure about horner's itt abilities so if any1 could give some detail on them i would be thankful

At California 2011 in a 24k rolling TT:

1 David Zabriskie (USA) Garmin-Cervélo 30' 35"
2 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Team RadioShack + 14"
3 Tejay van Garderen (USA) HTC-Highroad + 40"
4 Peter Velits (SVK) HTC-Highroad + 48"
5 Maarten Tjallingii (NED) Rabobank + 49"
6 Chris Horner (USA) Team RadioShack + 51"
7 Jakob Fuglsang (DEN) Leopard Trek + 53"
8 Jeremy Vennell (NZL) Bissell + 59"
9 Rory Sutherland (AUS) UnitedHealthcare + 59"
10 Christian Vande Velde (USA) Garmin-Cervélo + 1' 01"

Hasnt done too many short itts since his recent rise. Only one I can think of is Tour 2010 prologue

58 Christopher Horner (USA) Team Radioshack 0:00:52

But of course he wasnt as strong back then as he is now.

Same more or less for Pais Vasco last year. He was 5th at 55' back on 24k.

Moreno to win maybe 10 seconds ahead of everyone else. Kreuziger to take the lead off Horner and Evans to finish high enough that he can challenge for the podium in the ITT. Nibali of course to ride well too.

Horner I think can gain time against Nibali in 10km TT:(
pretty much Horner can seal the whole deal if he did not lose more than 20 seconds tomorrow

You sure you are not getting confused with the possessed lady in the image:D

Di Luca i would say on paper has the best sprint out of all the contenders but Kreuziger came 4th at LBL last year and went better yesterday so maybe he can go better.

Horner is vulnerable if he doesn't take more time from Kreuziger, so I suspect he'll take it up early to make sure there's big gaps.

The favourite or one of them???

Basso will be favourite, even with his crash and Scarponi would if he rides, even if Kreuziger does win here ( which hopefully he can )
