42k to go, big climb in front of them & the landscape looked like a star wars movie set in the last 10k, gap is now 2.20

Nibali apparantly on the front, seems like they are going for Sagan in the GC then? Seems pretty dumb to me, there's no way Sagan can keep up with Rodriguez etc on Green Mountain, even if he would be able to limit his losses quite a lot it wouldn't be enough.

True to his word Cavendish is still with the peloton over some hard climbs today to give Bernie his birthday wish of not having to wait for him.

At this point in the season, and on this particular climb, I think Sagan has a good chance of finishing around Rodriguez. EBH, Visconti, Flecha, Cancellara among others finished ahead of Rodriguez on it last year.

if EBH managed to take second on Green Mountain (i know about echelons but no matter) so why can't Sagan? Though you're right, having Nibali in the squad it's a bit strange...

Yeah, but Rodriguez was 3 minutes back at the foot of the climb...

Most GC guys like to be at the front on the few climbs there are... just test themselves a little, and be safe for the descent.

Do you have other sources than this thread and twitter? Because at the front doesn't necessarily mean on the front pulling the bunch.

EBH was 40 seconds behind though and I believe Sagan can do that as well, but might be more people in between this time if there are no echelons.

There are 2 clims on the finishing circuit. One is a long long drag from the sea, not as steep as others today, gap is 1.05
