My team:

GILBERT Philippe
VANMARCKE Sep
BRESCHEL Matti
BOECKMANS Kris
LANGEVELD Sebastian
TRENTIN Matteo
WALLAYS Jelle
VAN KEIRSBULCK Guillaume
NUYENS Nick
DEVOLDER Stijn
HUSHOVD Thor
SCHLECK Andy

Indeed as people said before the cobbled riders are in general cheaper than the hilly riders, so I selected mainly cobbbled riders.

On Devolder, he can't be worse than the last two years and because he is a sensible guy his reunion with Demol will affect his performance.

Surprising that I am the only one to select Boeckmans, I thought he could do well in Scheldeprijs and other flemish sprint races.

he was very strong in MSR as well last year (something around ~5th on the Poggio, then crashed on the descent), also one of the reasons why I picked him for the main game. But somehow I could not make him fit for the classics game

That was Trentin that crashed in MSR and not Boeckmans ;)

And one other matter, people that went with Madrazo might not get their return as he had a nasty injury in Decemeber / January if I remember, set him back a lot, don't think he'll feature till after may.

I considered Rollin but he is going to be a helper at FDJ this year with their line-up being superior to those of previous years. At least he should get 5-pointers for finishing which can't be said about Schleck
Interesting that I have the second team in term of popularity of riders. Actually, I'm surprised that Vichot isn't a unique pick.
Good luck to all.

WTF EvansIsTHeBest? I was hoping Vichot and Kolobnev would be my unique picks and you got both of them. You just ruined my game :p

I considered Vichot for a long time. I believe he can really perform well in the Ardennes especially Liege where he came 21st last year, but there were a couple of riders within his price bracket who were proven classics riders and therefore I didn't consider it worth the risk.

The main reason I picked Vichot was because I had him in my long list for the main game and somehow due to my negligence (read stupidity) I left him out so this is just a try to fix my own ego to include him somewhere

If Gilbert and Cancellara stay healthy I think one of the teams that have both of them will win. It did cross my mind to take both but it is a high risk/high reward strategy and could possibly take you out of the game very soon. I picked Hayden Roulston because I live in New Zealand and thought: This surely must be a unique pick but it wasn't. Must be another NZ'er in the game :)

I was pretty sure that my last minute changes I was trying to work out if I had Thor OR Andy in my team. Looks like I have both so I was probably trying to shoehorn in a rider I already had on there.

Ended up with 3 unique picks so things could be interesting (Will Clarke, Porsev and Ravard)

He was on my short list but couldn't fit him in

I see ive missed the ball with Langeveld.
Though I do have a unique pick this time round - Zaugg.

Might actually work out to be a good unique rider to have

Another on on my short list who didn't make the final team

Amstel is much better suited to his style of racing, IMO (and he doesn't has the stamina for Liege anyway).

Ghyselinck a unique pick...interesting. Now for him to prove that picking the right break at Dwars last year wasn't a fluke ;)

Cool.

Last year was a damn sight better with Vanmarcke 1st, Boonen 2nd, Haussler 4th and a few 5pts from top 30s :D

The GP Lugano tomorrow is unlikely to impact upon our game: only 2 of the startlist seem to be in this game, with Battaglin a unique pick for me, and DJ Sprtsch the only team featuring Cherel.

Almeria is largely overlooked by our selectors as well: only Ponzi (3teams), Vanendert (8 teams), Van Leijen and Markus (both unique picks) to be found on start lists.

KBK on the other hand should see some 36 of the chosen riders on the start line
