2013 Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 3: Ambérieu-en-Bugey - Tarare 167 km

PROFIL.jpg

Km 119.5 - Col des Echarmeaux - 10.6 km de montée à 3 % - Catégorie 3
Km 157.5 - Col des Sauvages - 4.0 km de montée à 5.5 % - Catégorie 3

I don't see any GC action going on knowing we have ITT tomorrow.

Meersman finally FTW?

Gallopin for an upset.

Why would that be upset?

Very strong hilly rider, good sprint. I think it wouldn't be upset at all.

Beating Meersmn I don't think qulifies as an upset nowdays :p

He has never won at this level though.

Since Viviani survived the hills yesterday, he'll certainly survive them today. Even someone like Bouhanni might be there.

I had a dream last night that Zubeldia won this solo. No kidding! But it could have been any random race, not necessarily this race

Is there some sort of silent protest going on?

? It's a serious question, or what?

If they are protesting, then against what? The weather is like in Siberia in January except the snow and the cold? Say it's just a poorly asked question.

Does anyone know if Tony started?

Yes he started, were there any reports he didn't or what?

Btw CAS DNS. Does that mean no CAS for le tour? Not a good sign

They really should just cut this race down to a couple of stages over the weekend. A bit like Tour of Trentino.

May give us better and more concentrated racing. Plus all the money saved can be used of find a few hidden cobble roads up North.

Alternatively send all the DSs on a month long vacation and let the riders race.

On his homepage he said he wasn't sure if he'll start today.
Hmm don't know if that's a good idea. riding with an illness doesn't seem to smart

Oh i see he has intestinal problems.

I guess Froome will win the ITT then

That sucks. I really want Chris in the Tour, so I hope this doesn't mean that he's definitely out. But it looks bad at the moment, I have to admit.

Oh, and for the stage: hoping for Gallopin to finally get that win. He's been scoring a lot of good placings this season - just missing that win in a big race.

Hopefully Nicki's spot is more or less safe, meaning we won't see a "Danish" team without Danes.

Indeed. And we might even see Mørkøv making it (depending on how he performs in Tour de Suisse). He said a little while ago that he was still in contention.

Based on these comments from Saxo Bank, I think he's definitely still in contention for the Tour:

Chris-Anker Sorensen who was designated the most agressive rider of the Tour de France last year didn’t start today due to gastroenteritis. "He suddenly felt bad yesterday just before going to dinner", Saxo-Tinkoff’s directeur sportif Philippe Mauduit told letour.fr. "He had a very bad night, he vomited and could hardly sleep. It’s a pity because he was going well. That’s also why we’ve stopped him from racing. He’s an important rider in our plan around Contador for the Tour. He’ll take some rest and resume racing at the Tour of Luxemburg next week. Luckily we had a free spot on our entry list for that race. He’ll fill the gap."

why is this race so early? will be the same start time at le tour?

It's because of the French tennis, which the French seem to think more people are going to want to watch than this race, but if the quick snippet I saw by mistake of some nobodies pottering around last night is anything to go by, I'm not so sure. The centre court or whatever they call it at Roland Garros must have had about 75 spectators in it, tops, for the evening match.
