As a Nibali fan I think that's probably typical PR nonsense. I do feel he'll put 30 second or so into Ryder. The big question is what Cadel will turn up.

Getting a better position on your TT bike with the best combination of aero/power is no PR..

you forget hesjedal emerged unscaffed from today's big contender hit the deck fiasco.

With every passing stage of this race I grow a little more confident of a Hesjedal victory. He looks super strong. Still reserve judgement on Evans until the high mountains, he looked decent in the 1st week of last years Tour only to implode on the mountains when Sky rode their race on the front.

Specialized have a much bigger budget then Cannandole had last year. I've seen the video's of Nibali testing his new position. It will actually save watts. I can't comment on other riders, but yes i do believe that with Specialized expertise and technology they can save a few watts.

But I'd be very surprised if Nibali outdoes Hesjedal.

What makes you think that? He's never shown anything even remotely close to a top, even a good result in a long TT.

As Wiggins is very puzzeling, I find this TT very hard to predict. But even if he's not on the top of his game I still think he'll win it. Also if I paid close enough attention to the start list, there isn't really any real competition in the peloton. That's of course if Evans isn't back on his best TT form, but I don't think thats very likely.

I'd love to see Nibali do great, but usually he's around 15th place in TTs like this. It wouldn't be surprising if he didn't gain but loose time on Intxausti I think. And he'll loose time to Wiggins for sure, regardless his condition. I'm absolutly sure though that he'll gain time on Hesjedal, whom as I said, never ever produced anything of significane in a TT this long, why on earth should that change so drastically?

I always said his heart is in defending Tour title on the 100th anniversary, anyone thinks otherwise should get a grip of reality. Giro is only training ground for him.

Doesn't exactly show in his ITT results so far this year. They are on exactly the same level as last year.
