Horrible conditions expected. Rain mixed with snow at the start in Milano. Snow around Alessandria all day long. Warmer but probably still wet heading to San Remo.

could play to cancellara's advantage? I want to see him win because if he does, it would be in a truly epic way. I hope his team will be present for once.

i disagree

anyway san remo will start on eurosport 2 from 14:30 CET(one hour) and after they will go live on eurosport from 16:15. so le manie should be live

I disagree too.

Biathlon season ends this weekend and cross country season ends next weekend. After that there will be much more room for cycling on Eurosport. :)

Stannard, Styby or Thor ftw!
The Sky guys will be too used to Tenerife's sun and 15 degrees to perform in such weather ;)

Hushovd hints that he might attack on the descent this time. He's not fast enough to win a sprint if Sagan etc are there.

But Sagan doesnt need to get away, he can wait, unlike Cancellara, all he needs is to make sure Cav and perhaps Greipel arent there at the end.

lolwut? Cav and Gripel a threat to Sagan? HAHAHHAHA

If they do manage to be there at the end they will be tired that even Nibali will outsprint them

Excluding the obvious contenders I reckon John Degenkolb could be in with a shout. Be interested how Thomas goes - whether he riders for EBH or has a bit more of a free role.

Most likely none of the big favorites will win tomorrow. A break-away before Poggio could survive. Expected hard conditions are surely making it difficult for some riders.

Some good candidates:
Santambrogio
Avermaet
Kristoff
Malacarne
Terpstra

And the housewifes favourite for a surprise victory is of course:
Thomas Voeckler

what do people think of gilbert's chances? he hasn't been talked up and rated as a top favourite but I think he's capable of a strong attack on the poggio and is a good descender. He can't beat sagan in a sprint but maybe he'll get away whilst sagan watches cancellara.

Maybe, it's one of the big ones that Gilbert has not won. His form seems good but not obviously good like Sagan or Moser. I also like Haussler as an outsider. Finished second before and from all reports has been feeling great.

Theoretically, I agree. However, Degenkolb is suffering from pains in his thighs after Tirreno-Adriatico.

Ah, thanks I was not aware of that. He impressed at the worlds and, if had the same form, could do well at MSR.

Oh my god....

Up early, rushed around all morning doing errands, nipped out training and feeling fairly pleased with myself to be all sorted ready to settle down and chill watching San Remo....

and it's tomorrow. Damn you RCS for your date move :D

Well, at first I was glad I was finally free on a saturday in march so i can watch msr, then i found out they moved the date. Then i watched my work schedule...and found out i have to work tomorrow from 13.30 to 22h.

No MSR for me. Thanks RCS & UCI :(

I really look forward to BMC shutting down every attack from Cipressa until Oss launches Gilbert on the Poggio. Even so, Sagan and company to catch him on the downhill, and Sagan to win from a surprise attack on the flat.

No way, they're catching him on the downhill. Cancellara failed to take that much time on the downhill in 2011 even on GVA.
