It's not 252 kms though, it's two stages of 120 and 140 kms with a pause in between.

I'm sorry to play the grumpy old man again, but this is not a MSR.

Meh.

Furthermore, I apologize to all the people here who were sceptical about the weather. I didn´t believe it would be this serious with the snow, and I was wrong.

It will make an interesting finale even more spectacular and non-predictable. Boasson Hagen e.g. could benefit from this very well, he prefers 200-250 over 260-300 km.

When did he say that?

Another great signing by Blanco/Rabo going wrong

There's always one non-Dutch signing every year that goes terribly wrong.

Should have stayed at Sky.

Coming out of a bus and riding (while not warmed up) in the cold from there is going to create some victims.

Yesterday morning I left to ride to work in the a.m. I live in Crans-Montana, but I work at a bike shop close to Martigny. It was the most frigid, coldest ride I've ever been on. I had a ***** of a headwind too. I was wearing multiple layers and all the right gear, but it is the coldest I have ever been. My heart rate dropped to 80 bpm when on average it is about 127 for riding. I was scared and shouting the whole way. I arrived at work at about 9:00 and my co-worker had to remove my helmet for me as my fingers were so numb and I had no energy to even unclip the strap. My face and whole body was bright pink and I felt sick. My eyes fely 'heavy' and I was very drowsy. I spent 20 minutes sitting in our small bathroom right next to the heater. After that I started to feel better. My point is... I feel very sorry for these guys today! I didn't even have any snow yesterday! I see them as true modern days warriors.

Just tuned in. What the heck has happened?!

Can someone please give me a short recap?

Well it was snowing so hard a part of the course (about 40km) had to be cancelled. Riders are now in buses being transferred

It will be brutal. LOL at anyone who thinks the shortened distance means this won't be a tough race.
