Yesterday morning I left to ride to work in the a.m. I live in Crans-Montana, but I work at a bike shop close to Martigny. It was the most frigid, coldest ride I've ever been on. I had a ***** of a headwind too. I was wearing multiple layers and all the right gear, but it is the coldest I have ever been. My heart rate dropped to 80 bpm when on average it is about 127 for riding. I was scared and shouting the whole way. I arrived at work at about 9:00 and my co-worker had to remove my helmet for me as my fingers were so numb and I had no energy to even unclip the strap. My face and whole body was bright pink and I felt sick. My eyes fely 'heavy' and I was very drowsy. I spent 20 minutes sitting in our small bathroom right next to the heater. After that I started to feel better. My point is... I feel very sorry for these guys today! I didn't even have any snow yesterday! I see them as true modern days warriors.
