Is San Remo even the big target? The timing makes much better sense for Roubaix and particularly Flanders.

I believe Sagan is still too young to win Milano-San Remo. The race is yet too long and hard for his bodily structure.

Sagan is certainly the favorite by a mile, but Sanremo is so unpredictable, there could be a dozen things that could go wrong, or split second decisions that determine the result.

A bit of a weird edition though, because outside of Sagan most of the usual favorites for a race like this haven't shown a lot.

I doubted Sagan for Strade Bianche but he has proven me wrong. He wins this. Only fly in the ointment could be Nibali and Cancellara getting away on the descent of the Poggio........but I think Sagan is just too strong.

Last year Sagan won the peloton sprint ahead of Degenkolb. I think those rules about age have changed a bit these days. Not for every rider, of course.

And Milano Sanremo is probably the 'easiest' of the classics. I could see Sagan needing a couple of years to be able to handle Liège, or possibly the Ronde van Vlaanderen, but Sanremo is almost perfect for him.

This crossed my mind as well. I'm thinking Sky are looking for GT to peak at Flanders and EBH to peak at PR. Whatever they can do in San Remo is an eventual bonus.

The timing and parcours for screams Sagan. Anybodies guess who could come 2nd and 3rd and that could be what works against Sagan

That's maybe not entirely true... as cycling lore has it, it's the easiest in terms of the parcours, but it's the hardest to win. Just ask Tom Boonen.

Not everyone has the ability to produce a race winning sprint after 300 k. Gerrans barely came by Cancellara last year, after sitting on his wheel for kilometers on end.

They could have written me off/As of yet/NOT! Andrey Amador (MOVISTAR). If you watched him in Tirreno, and w/o having to look after A:V. Just as Gerrans´ last year, this long Monument is for someone not guarded, unchecked, in current shape.

Sagan massive favourite no matter what the configuration. The bad weather will also suit Purito (could he possibly pull off a loner from Poggio?) and Nibali. I'd be surprised if Cav figures in the final.
