You're right. Boonen had the worst sprint and was about to get dropped hard, but managed to win when the other riders crashed.

I think the chance that Canc would have won with stybar there (vandenbergh was about to get dropped) was a 'bit' bigger than the chance that Boonen would have won with pozzato, flecha, hushovd, hoste, vansummeren.

What is true? That he won by luck?

Stybar crashed out. Vanmarcke took the lead just before last lap, giving Cancellara the ideal position. If those two things hadn't happened he can very well have lost. On the same page Netserk should consider Boonen's win, where everybody crashed, lucky too though.

Boonen kept increasing his gap on Pozzato - he was clearly stronger.

Hushovd crashed because Boonen took the corner at a high speed. He knew Hushovd was going to drop or crash there.

Great ride by Vanmarcke. After his injuries, I didn't expect him to do so well, in fact I had already shortlisted him for my CQ team next year.
He'll definitely have his chances once again in the future.

Chapeau to Gaudin for his constant attacks and again proving what a beast he his and for Stybar who surely would have been on the podium if not for his unfortunate crash.

Can anyone tell me why Cancellara is so amazing?

I hope Sagan watched the race taking notes on his high school notepad.

Pozzato was closing the gap on the cobbles. There's no way Boonen would have dropped Pozzato there.

And in the E3 Boonen lost in the sprint against pozzato and then you had the faction of flecha, hoste and vansummeren aswell.

Hushovd seemed to almost drop, i'll give you that.

OPQS definately had bad luck, no doubt on that. But that doesn't take anything away from Cancellara. Who knows, if they could've done anything in the finale.

In the end, it was Cancellara leading Vanmarcke into the velodrome. He went on his brakes a little bit and maybe forced Sep into the lead. The latter didn't mind, it seemed. Then the legs told the rest. Cancellara had much more left.

There was only a few seconds of a gap on Pozzato. Boonen increased it - he was clearly stronger. Had been in the attack all day as well. At Omloop Boonen lost to Vanmarcke in a sprint, but he later beat Sagan in a sprint at G-W. And Pozzato in the Ronde van Vlaanderen.

Who cares about Flecha and Hoste? What have they ever won?
