5 Canc can't sprint
4 Sep isnt reaching his potential
3 Canc is boring
2 Canc only has 1 tactic. Can't possibly win any other way than tt.
1 This race needs Boonen

those are all true

what a race
brainy ride by Cancellara

shameful of course, what happenned to Stybar and Vanderbergh

still, i do hope Boonen gets back to his best next year!

It was a great race.

Canc won by luck. The two OPQS riders crashed, and Vanmarcke lost his brain.
Your so ridiculous have you even read about Cancellara's build up to Roubaix, because Cancellara would of smoked them in Flanders form.
Look at the end, Cance was absoloute fu***d lol :D
I no what you mean about Stybar but, not Vandenbourgh he was distanced already lol.

Can anyone tell me why Cancellara is so amazing?

I hope Sagan watched the race taking notes on his high school notepad.

One thing is sure : He would not have lost it against Cance on velodrome :D

Biggest loser of the day is probably Sagan.

If Gaudin and Stybar(first time racer) can make it into the top ten who knows what Sagan could've done.

He would've ridden Roubaix if he won the Ronde. That's the bet he made with his team. Should've made a different bet that said he should ride Roubaix if he podiums the Ronde.

Yeah. One thing that sucks is, when a new cycling fan looks back at the decade between 2005~2015 (or so) in 20 years, he'll think there must have been this epic rivalry between Boonen and Cancellara when in reality they rarely ever really raced against each other at top form.

Nice ride by Van Avermaet. The only major classic where he doesn't have a top 10 is probably Lombardia.

He must be frustrated to get so many top fives and tens but hardly any podiums. Good ride all the same.

Vanmarcke - the most talented and the most stupid cobble rider?

Not so dumb - the chasers weren't THAT far back.

Good race. Grand win for Canc - probably the most canny I've ever seen him ride. Vanmarcke was cooked by the end - but so was Canc - Cancellara just had a tiny bit more left. Vanmarcke learned a lot at this, his 1st PR. We'll see him again, I think.

Cancellara was very lucky this time, OPQS did a perfect tactic and was going to put his succes in serious danger if it wasn't for the two crashes.
And also Vanmarcke was a bit fool in keep helping him, especially after Cancellara attack with 5 km to go.

I don't know if you can conclude that after beating a cooked Vanmarke who led Canc out for the sprint and is not a renowned sprinter himself, even if he is decent it all changes after 254km.
Maybe you could conclude that after he nearly beat Greipel in Worlds 2011 or when he Top 5ed on Champs Elysees but not today.

Stybar crashed out. Vanmarcke took the lead just before last lap, giving Cancellara the ideal position. If those two things hadn't happened he can very well have lost. On the same page Netserk should consider Boonen's win, where everybody crashed, lucky too though.

The bolded was just good tactics from Fabian, he went for the track stand and Vanmarcke wasn't prepared. I wouldn't want to track stand after 255km

It's his 3rd Roubaix.

Overslept and missed all but the last 20k. And of course it turns out to be a great edition.

I'm sad for Stybar but happy to see Terpstra on the podium. I see Van Avermaet raced after all. We shouldn't have taken him out of the poll.

I see the top 16 results. Can someone quickly tell me about the following, crash/mech or dropped:

Roelandts
Pozzato
Phinney
Hushovd
Chavanel
Sky:eek:

Vandenbergh rode a very good race, but I don't think he was a factor anymore. The crash was his own fault, and I think a result of his fatigue at that point.

The question of what Stybar could have done is more interesting imo.

Don't understand people saying that Stybar should know better than to ride on the side of the road. They all do it and he was sitting on Fabian's wheel when he clipped somebody. Taking the line that everybody in the group was taking and clipping somebody is bad luck, whichever way you look at it

Chapeau to Sep, thought he had it in the sprint but he made the race interesting and pushed Canc. He could have sat on but it seemed like he thought that he was suffering and rather than let him set the pace he would take turns and switch it up and change the tempo and maybe throw him off.

Wasn't canc going to ride the giro?

His teamleader didn't talk about it when asked about his next goal.

I don't think so.

Cance said that, but it was clear that the team would have a say in it, to put it mildly. They pretty much made him retract that story on Twitter. The latest info was that he would discuss his schedule with the team after Roubaix. Other than the Worlds it's anyone's guess, really.

He will probably go close in the Amstel but you would think he would also have done well at Roubaix.
