What's even more ridiculous about the ride Nibali got is that Grivko who was with Nibali didn't get a ride and had to come back on his own strength.

One could argue he would have been even closer had he gotten a ride aswell.

I have just returned from Firenze. It was fun reading this forum: "The best WC ever" etc. after the first 2 laps. "Boring fest" etc. after the final one. + this wheelsucking staff . LOL
I would prefer Nibali or Purito to win too but Costa did everything right here. He played the cards he had and he played them damn well and he is well deserved champion.
It was fantastic race and my respect goes to everybody who finished.

I loved everything there. Country, food, wine, fans, even rain :).
Sagan post-race interview has nailed it. "My goal was to be satisfied with myself after the race and I am". Well said from 24 year old boy. No whining. That boy really likes his job and Slovaks have finally somebody to be proud of.

He came sixth after all.

I remember when Froome eated and took a few sec penalty, by the rules, forum was full of moral warriors calling for DSQ, even he was penalized by the rules.

The same moral warriors have no problem with Nibali drafting km's and hanging on the car in a WC race.

I hope your not talking about me here, because I didn't call for Froome to be disqualified or anything else like that after his offence. I called for the usual punishment they would give anyone for that.

Has a route been released for Ponferrada yet? I'd be pretty thrilled if the course lends itself to similar (or even the exact same) protagonists as this year's race.

But don't think this is the confirmed route yet. Still might change.

I think they did that as the ITT in the 2010 Vuelta a Castilla y Leon. Those climbs are easier than those of Firenze.

I think he'd be DQ'ed if it wasn't on home soil.

I would probably mind it more if it was done by Valverde

i hope the same consistency is not applied when judging what is trolling and what is not.
