Purito deserved to win this. He did everything right for Valverde, all Valverde had to do was wheelsuck the others and if the chased Purito down he could win the sprint. Costa played it smart, he knows Valverde is dumb as hell.

Nice to see an outsider win, and I'd have happily taken any winner from the final four other than Valverde. But it's hard to like a winner who so thoroughly refuses to put his nose in the wind.

Pretty disappointing worlds. No Cancellara or Sagan in the final, Spain making Nibali do all the work, Costa wheelsucked before soloing up to Purito. Would have preferred Purito to tell the truth, at least he was solo most of the way.

The Course is way too tough for Cancellara and Sagan. Can't believe the bookies had them as favourites.

Costa really is an impressive rider!

JRod should have seen him arrive earlier and allowed Valverde the chance to get a certain Spanish win.

Gotta admit the Spanish boys did almost everything right, even though they did nothing to animate the race before the last two rounds.

Huh what u on Valverde was 17 secs behind, Purito done everything right or Valverde too be WC, how he lost it i will nevr know, why was he scared of chasing costa? Nibali was no threat. Unlucky Purito rider of day and strongest still nearly won it aswell.
