They have completed 100km in just 2 hours. Today's stage is going so fast again. Someone will pay it later on.

Isn't Burghardt tired after yesterday's stage? Would have taken a massive effort from him to bridge the gap.

And today is not 180km flat stage, today is 242,5km rolling stage with Mont Ventoux finale.

Rolland might be in the polka dots but he looks a long way below 2011 form

Rolland should have never gone for this stage. He should be targeting Stage 19 and those 2 massive climbs at the start.

In 2009 the Garate break had 5:14 at the bottom on the climb. He finished 38 seconds ahead of Schleck and Contador who didn't go hard out and certainly would have caught him if they had.

With the pressue in the first couple of hours today I think the break will need at least six minutes from the base of the climb.

is there any point for OPQS to bring down the gap?

Sagan end up getting too many points if the break gets to sprint point before pelaton

Allright, go Poels! :)

Still a long way to go and Poels is unproven on lomg distances and he has some other contenders in the break as well.

I wouldnt be surprised that if the break survives Sagan will take it.

Also, Poels is bad in heat. I remember he lost his top 10 position in the Vuelta 2011 in some medium mountain stage because of the heat.

So a long hard stage and heat and I'm doubting he'll win it, if it even goes to the break. But yeah, normally Poels should be the best climber.

But the pelaton has been riding very fast. wont they be a bit tired?

i think the pelaton has already brought it below 6 min already.
