PMSL at Rolland's shorts - he's performing invaluable public service making white short wearers look good :eek:

I dont reckon he is past it but I think the competition is much better so it will be more even and Cav, Greipel and Kittel will each take 2-3 stages. I was gutted about stage 1 and I am looking forward to stages 5 and 6 to see where the sprinters really stand.

OPQS has potentially the strongest train (by far) but Lotto's is better drilled.

Thanks, Cav didnt look like he really challenged Greipel in stage 1 either.

Kittel went for it, Greipel too, Cav sat on Greipel's wheel and didn't look like he attempted to come round (whether to save energy or just knew he couldn't make it I'm not sure)

It's actually taken a surprisingly long time for someone to copy and paste the obligatory Cav is past it post this year.

Obviously in reality, when you dominate for over 5 years, and have a track record of only going full gas when it counts, you actually have to be beaten when it counts for real evidence of decline.

I agree, but isnt it you who always says that crashes are part of a race and part of rider's skillset. Eg you ridiculed posts in 2010 and 2011 that said Anton could have won the vuelta, because avoiding crashes is just as important as climbing. He was beaten fair and square.

So doesn't your own logic apply to stage 1. Cav crashed, but that is part of the race, so he was beaten. Fair and square.
