Costa in difficulty

Don't think so. He's been in the back since the beggining and even attacked to match Mathias Frank's group which bring back the groups together.

Why did Nibali attack so early? He's normally a smarter rider than that, unless he wanted to goat Froome into doing so to burn him out?

Or am I grasping at straws?

I really hope Spilak drops Froome on the descent, just to teach him not to wait for others.

Not really, Nibali is chasing form :( It appears Bertie is the only hope to avert another Alien route!!!

Dont worry Carols. Contador can beat Froome this year

My guess is that he just wants to test his form.

I did, that was the only exception (race he actually liked). Also the only years he was great in Amstel was 1999/2001.

He was good in 2003 too.

If Nibali can keep the gap to Froome to around 30 secs then he can get that back on the descent. Problem is there is still over 4k's of climbing yet.
