2014 Bayernrundfahrt

http://www.bayern-rundfahrt.com/

So Germany's one and only significant stage race is coming arround.
After decades of rather dull and uninspired editions it seems that the organizers are finally heading into the right direction. It's the declared goal to turn this race into a HC event within the next couple of years.
For this years edition the organizers managed to present a balanced and interesting route. (For Bayernrundfahrt standards at least)
The start list is also quiet good. A good mix between international top teams and young German/European squats.
Many prominent racers are on the start list, promising an interesting battle for the overall classification.
From a local perspective all eyes will be on Silvio Herklotz who just turned 20 and is widely considered Germany's biggest GT talent since Jan Ullrich.

5. 1. Juni 2014 Wassertrüdingen- Nürnberg 164km (Flat, criterium parcours finish with a small hill)

Unglaublich!!! Supergeil!!! A parcours that actually makes good on almost TEN percent of what this race could be!!!

Seriously, this race is almost every year a contender for most disappointing parcours, this is an ENORMOUS step in the right direction.

Are there at least any talks about broadcasting cycling races in Germany again?
The German championchips will be. They are in the country of Hessen. The broadcasting station of Hessen also broadcasts the Frankurt Race. Seems like they have a cycling fan there.

Go Herklotz!

Will be interesting to see how Sepulveda does as well

It is already a 2.HC event for as long as I remember, do you mean WT?

I'm thinking Jens is pretty active in his homeland, especially after not having any luck at AToC.

I want Frank to take revenge on Peraud but the ITT is too long I think. Hope he'll be up there anyhow. I wonder how Meintjens will fare

Hopefully the young german sprinters do well today. I'm hoping for a top 5 maybe from Willwohl. Dieteren and Bauhaus are also able to do a good sprint, but i don't know for which one Stölting will ride :)
