And if this turns out to be a one-off for Urán, there won't be another chance. Like with Hesjedal in 2012, only much worse, because Urán is actually wearing the pink jersey.

GG so-called contenders.

they didn't know uran wasn't riding well until 5 k for the finish. they were never going to take big time on him anyway and uran never looked in trouble either. more like he didn't care somehow

That's kinda the point. Hard to know if someone's having an off day if you don't try anything.

uran definitely didn't look like he was dead at the finish at all. quintana had no confidence but when he sprinted for the line he saw to his own surprise pozzo dropped. tis will be very good for quintana's confidence

You truly are hilarious lol, Uran did not look dead?. He was cooked completely man he did not even sprint he could not. He looked in morepain than Cataldo etc. And Quintana dropped Pozzo because he wheelsucked. Imagine if Evans done that to Quintana you would say what im saying.

Great stage today, as good as it could get really.

This. Actually, perhaps even better, because it wasn't only a good stage, but also suggests that the GC gaps are approximately in proportion to the contenders' potential to make them up. So a great stage that sets up what could be a great final week.

opqs did terrible job,Uran was isolated and had a gap when Trek was pulling.imo he had to close something like 15 seconds gap immediately,it could cost him the power then

So looking forward to 3rd week,it should be incredible!

Although I agree that he should never have been in that situation, it was Poels who closed that gap.

he needs a perfect week

3 minutes on Uran
2'30 on Evans
2 on Majka
1 minute on Pozzovivo

Uran went into red. he's cooked
he should take care of Evans and Majka no problem

Pozz is his greatest threat but only 1 minute and some point Pozz is going to run out of muscle as he's got nothing to burn

And why should Evans follow Quintana? He should only follow Uran at this point, because he won time in the TT to everybody else, so why should he loose energies pursuing Quintana and Pozzovivo?
That will be Evans objective when Pozzo and Quintana are closer, probably Tuesday or Wednesday.

Uran payed his TT effort. Tomorrow he'll be better.

Cataldo and Pantano really ****ed things up when they stopped working together the moment they caught Timmer. They had it easily in the bag if only they cooperated just a bit.

Epic comeback from Battaglin though.

I don't understand half of what team directors do anymore, yes have the entire OPQS mountain squad ride the TT full gas ... excellent way to conserve energy. Didn't see any of that from Movistar/BMC/AG2R etc

Based on what I've seen I think Majka has a good chance to win this Giro. I feel he'll outclimb Evans and Uran consistently, and probably has enough on Quintana and Pozzovivo

great finish, apart from Quintana wheelsucking a bit, he and Pozzo could have gained at least 20 s more.

What's with all this "x looked in more pain than y" nonsense? These guys make poker players look like drama queens.....You can only really tell from the way they actually ride.
