Yep, he's doing **** as expected at this age and as I predicted last year;)

That explains a lot.

So surly you no how well Evans is doing then if you thought and new Samu would do bad?. So as i said not many are doing what Evans has done. Samu and Basso can't even get a top 10 i bet, yet Evans is probably going to be 5th. If Horner never won La Vuelta people would say how well is Evans doing.

By the way hope you don't think i dislike Samu he is awsome just Evans is abit better.

He reminds me a bit of Kloden.

Hmmm yeah, I think so. Or maybe I'm just agreeing because they have a similar body type and I like both riders.

Rolland's style certainly beats the hell out of the likes of Kohl and Tommy V. Somebody on here once described the latter as climbing like he was f***ing a rabbit.

André Cardoso ‏@ACardoso84 4m
@ryder_hesjedal @Ride_Argyle after Candido Barbosa I'm the best Portuguese Rider you know Man
Cardoso was impressive today, but I think he has chosen te wrong day to get into the breakaway. For me it was obvious break had no chance today.
Pity he didn't do it yesterday.

Just watched the last few K's. Enjoyed it a lot. Aru was in a league of his own, it will be interesting to see how performs in the last week. Uran is riding a very smart race imo. He isn't quite the strongest climber here but he is pacing himself very well. Really hoping that Quintana can up his game....he does not look like he did last year at the Tour. Nice Stage!....at least the last K. :)

Quintana wasn't toying with anyone.
then you should just play it again. He slowed down and upped py d like thousend times and looked back on his rivals every second (he was practicaly driving between groups),I think in last 5 km he had better overview than Rai's motobikes:D

amen.
wonderful his attitude towards racing also. he said he didn't want to be the type of rider who only rides tour de france. he was awesome, i hope he can take finally a stage win

But when he's chasing polkapoints his behaviour becomes rather despicable.

I always likend him to Simoni aswell but hey Gotti is not to bad but Simoni also never done a good TDF remember. I think it is higly unlikely Aru can ever win a TDF i no we dont even n i he can win the Giro in a few years but their is alot bigger chance imo. When was the last Italian TDF winner? It seems decade's

Edit Pantani of course

How could Simoni do a good Tour if the Giro was always his focus?

lots of love for Ro Ro and Hesj.

Ro Ro smooth as silk.

and Hesj man, I really don't get the disdain from some here. No, he is not a multiple GT winner, but to say that his Giro win was a fluke, etc. and that he is not any good is ridiculous. he has had terrible luck since that giro win. and now he is tickling the top ten -- when without a 3 min 45 sec deficit incurred in the TTT he might be tickling the top five.

and today he had a gutsy ride. dropped by 20 or so riders with 8 kms to go, he kept fighting back and ended up leading evans in.

freakin' chapeau to the Hesj!!

No. I think that by the end of the Giro nairito will be... perhaps even now, if he had asked to target the tour I think Movistar would've rated him above valverde

Maybe if Quintana wins the Giro and Valverde gets nothing out of the Tour/Vuelta this year. But to think Quintana calls the shots at Movistar today is very naive.

Sort of first lesson free type stuff.

Have to agree with Dazed. Valverde still runs the show at Movistar, though this could change for GTs after this year if Nairo comes through and Valverde falters. And Nairo did not have the freedom to choose between Giro and the Tour this year.

Watched it late (and managed to avoid spoilers)but hats off to Aru. The final 5k was great!

Actually the entire climb was damn good if you include the breakaway action, though for the life of me I don't know what Cardoso, Arredondo, Pirazzi, Hansen, Zardini, Torres, Felline and the like were doing. Were they not listening to their DS? It was always obvious that the MS group was going to catch them and they were wasting energy and throwing attacks at each other like it was for a stage win. Still good on them - it was entertaining!

This thing is going to be close but I still think Uran is the favorite at this point with Nairo as the only other rider with a real shot at winning. Third is completely up for grabs as I think Aru will have a bad day this week.

4 of the top 7 eligible for the white jersey.

They were having a red hot go of things, why shouldn't they????

Most of those guys were in the break, with no GC guy to ride for. Actually Arredondo and Cardoso were the only ones and even then Arredondo's attack was worth trying simply for a shot at more mountain points.

Screw sitting up - go down swinging like these guys did, especially Hansen, Cardoso and Zardini! You never know what the guys behind are going to do, so never stop riding.

this and also coming from a new world country who have no right to win GTs in europe

Lemond even had to put up with that

What kind of BS are you guys talking about?
Evans is very liked in Italy, probably one of the most liked riders among non Italians.

Stop playing this victim card. Every rider has got his haters, and Evans for one has much less than most top riders.

He did good today. I never thought he was podium material but hats off to him.

Hey, I enjoyed it. I just thought the tactics were ridiculous with the way the peloton was steadily closing in. The only chance (and it was no real chance) those guys had was to work together, not attacking each other over and over. It was fun to watch but rather comical.
