What about Boonen? He was also very harsh. He said the he did not know that they had guys in front and he would have never chased them down if he was informed. And he also said that things like that could only happen once. But apparently Boonen is allowed to make such comments ...

Tom is worth a lot in terms of popularity, he's still one of the most popular riders in the peloton so he is allowed to do so I guess. Lefevre will always be a manager and he knows which riders are great for business (Boonen, Cav and Kwiatkowski, not Steegmans or Vermote). But Lefevre himself being in charge of the team is bqd for business I think, and openly stating things like thia won't make him more likeable...

Apparently Lefevre is not happy at all with the critique of Steegmans after the Belgian National Championships. He has said that the chance of Steegmans and Vermote staying with them next year has not become bigger at all, which, considering how good a helper Vermote is and how good Steegmans was riding these last weeks, just shows that Lefevre can handle no critique.
