Women's and veterans Irish nationals postponed because of a big traffic accident on the course earlier in the day. Four people were killed and unsurprisingly the cops weren't keen on clearing up an investigation scene to let bike races through.

The men's elite and U23s will still be going ahead later today.

1 hour is raced, so here's the situation in Baunatal (less than 30000 people live there, so you don't have to know it ):

Six men have a lead of three minutes. Three of them are in the team Stölting. That gives Silvio Herklotz a good position. Tempo is pretty slow.
The question is who will close the gap. Tony Martin is alone and Andre Greipel just has Marcel Sieberg with him. Giant Shimano however are more in numbers.

No reason to hype Herklotz, it's way too flat for him. Bauhaus is Stölting's best suited rider for today.
Giant-Shimano obviously the big favourites, they got Schachmann and Brockhoff for the early part and should have the fastest rider in the finale (unless someone does a solo).
