Very good pictures, klein.

GVA's campaign goes down the drain right here:

Nice BMC train deep into the finale at PR, but the concept just doesn't belong in this race.

Sagan-6 th place and his PR was better than I expected,he can win this race in a few years, but still needs to improve his cobble skills (tho I think he has pretty bad form so far, won't be a factor in Ardennes imo).
Won't do any of the ardennes classics. PR was his last spring classic this year.

Wow, what a race! I voted Terpstra to win from a superiority in numbers from OPQS, but I definetely didn't expect Boonen to attack from 65k out and Terpstra ride away at the end. More like the other way around (well, Tommeke waiting for the sprint of course).

Kudos to Boonen for turning this race upside down. Otherwise, it could have been a boring edition with the headwind, causing the favourites to wait till Carrefour.

Also an honourable mention for young Stuyven. Great race.

Good mention of Stuyven. He did some great pulls for Cancellara. Too bad the leader himself rode so defensively

I just saw the video of the race - lucky enough to stay away from any information about the race and lucky enough to have a few free hours ;)

Thrilling! I like the winner. Terpsta maybe not the strongest, but it was deserved team victory and deserved Terpstra's personal victory in terms of his career as a whole. Moreover in his trademark style.

Boonen, Sagan and Terpstra made me a day - I simply like attackers and classy showings.

I'm happy for Sagan's two attacks, I don't think it was dumb wasting of energy in headwind. He didn't look comfortable on cobbles, so from my point of view in both cases he just anticipated Cancellara and Vanmarcke and went early to be on their level after Carrefour de l’Arbre. Maybe he would hang on with Boonen and Thomas and co, but you never know. And outcome would be hardly better.

Little dissappointed by Cance - I know his podium record is impressive, but he is on level where only victories counts. I don't like Spartacus waiting for sprint.

Cancellara had put some time in training for sprint finishes, so that may have influenced his decision. He had maybe 1 or 2 drops left in the tank. Cancellara thought the Sky boys will bring it back together & maybe he had a chance at the sprint. Maybe that was his thinking. Cancellara didn't do his typical multiple attacks, multiple efforts. He was positioned badly most of the race and had to constantly work to move up. At one point, he was a few groups back. Once he came to the front, he had to recuperate from the effort just to catch on.

Boonen did too much, but he was by far the most impressive rider, IMO.
Boonen was cooked at the end, though. If Sky had attacked, Boonen wouldn't have been able to chase.

Sagan was also very smart. I appreciate the go harder before the cobbles, knowing that the better riders will catch him. My strategy on hills :) I take off in the flats before, knowing the group will catch me and pass me. Better chance of me latching back on with that head start. It was obvious that Sagan was done, spent, at the end. He didn't even contest the 2nd place sprint.

Wiggins and Cancellara may have time-trialed themselves back, but all were cooked.

Terpstra did it best. He got the OK from the team to attack, then it was balls out! way over threshold, totally gasping, all mental since body was done. Win-win for him. If he got caught, he was helping the team and at least 6 or 7 of the remaining 10 would have been dropped. He still could have latched on to the new group and maybe saved some for the velodrome. Fortunately, no one chased, so he kept on gaining. I got a bit emotional when he did, in the velodrome, all by himself, crowd going crazy.

Degenkolb was the only one that had anything remotely left from the rest and also deserved 2nd place.

One of my favorite Paris-Roubaix. Cobblestone sections=riders dropping like flies. The break kept on losing riders to flats. I kept on cheering for Dayer Quintana, he always seemed to just make it out at the tail end. Same with Kristoff. Both had to abandon, though

Sagan changed his way in classic. More attacks, less wheelsuck than previous years. He is still finding his way to win a monument.

I can't remember when he wheelsucked last time. During 2013 season he was in numerous attacks, since MSR till Montreal. But I agree he is still finding his way.

He got that reputation when he wheelsucked Cancellara for a stage at the Tour. He refused to help and then attacked him after hitching a ride to the finish. Only time I remember him doing that. He did it once, but on the worst possible moment, a TDF finish with Cancellara being glorified. Cancellara was ****ed and, although he is very professional, you can tell he doesn't like Sagan

I remember that very well of course, but it was summer 2012 and IMO it is not enough to agree with "Sagan changed his way in classic. More attacks, less wheelsuck than previous years."

:D It was Sagan´s first win in Tour. The date I started to hate Cancelara. He did not need Sagan to keep the opened gap to peloton. He finished second anyway. He just wanted to fu..ck up Sagan on his way to finish. He looked like an idiot to me complaining about Sagan after race and even year after.

Sagan just did what everybody had to do to win his first Tour stage.

I have found the way to respect the Cance again but his complain about this is absolutely ridiculous and still makes me angry.

What bothered Canc (and part of the general public) the most was his excessive way of celebrating that victory, not the wheelsucking. You know, the Forrest Gump imitation (edit: no, that was another stage). Ironically, that might have cost Sagan a monument win

It was this one:
