I'll be amazed if either Uran or Kwia go on to win this. Are they joint leaders AND joint domestiques?

there is not much need for a mountain domestique in this race anyway. The first mountain top finish is so flat that even Trentin should be able to stay with the leaders up to a couple of km before the finish and the 2nd is so steep that domestiques are of no help anyway

Tony Martin, Poels, Kenaugh, Sioutsou and Cataldo should be enough to drive Kwia or Úran to victory, againts the likes of Tinkoff and Movistar.

Lol,guys, how many secs do you think Quintana will lose in that itt?its short enough to limit loses anyway,in addition to this he isnt even bad timetrialist.
Secondly, more important factor is his form.If he has decent form, opqs will never win this race....
And there is still Contador, this is gonna be hell for Kwia;)

No, Nairo's not a bad TTer but I wonder if there is there enough time to be gained on the climbs to offset the cumulative TT loss. I expect Kwia, Porte and AC to gain time on him there that he will need to recoup.

We shall agree to disagree. With bonifications, I take the view that delivering a leader to the business end of the stage will make a major difference (particularly if 7 seconds is considered a massive advantage).

On a bet, I'd happily take Quintana over either of the OPQS boys even money.

Don't hold your breath jensie :p I'm predicting he won't ;)

I will hold my breath.:D If contador can't dislodge sky no.2, quintana, uran and kwiat, then history of last year will repeat itself comes TDF when he'll face sky no.1. Maybe he should start transfering his knowledge to Edward Beltran :D

Congrats to OPQS- it was widely expected from them to win today-which means my man Uran goes to the next stages with the advantage:)

as far as the "GC contenders" the list goes like this:

1-) Uran & Kwiatkowski
2-) Quintana +18"
3-) Contador +24"
4-) Porte +27

Very true, but he still won't ;) he also said he'd try everything to win Algarve - and instead of attacking on the first ascent of Malhao he attacked with 500m to go

Tirreno is a different animal altogether.

AC's not here for a stage win, he will go on the attack everywhere there's opportunity. This means both Sat. and Sun. and then give everything in the final tt.

However, this is what every serious contender must do except for Kwiatkowski.

Yet the Pole is young and while he finished 11th in the last Tour and is off to a flying start in 14, I doubt he has the same firepower (at this point) as Contador, Porte and Quintana.

Can someone explain me why are Garmin doing THAT badly in the TTT recently? I know they're not as strong TT-wise as they used to be a couple of years ago, but still, with Talansky, Millar, Bauer, Dekker, King, they should have a team good enough to finish in the middle of the field at worst today.

Millar is way over the hill, Dekker is... well, you know, and King? Who the f. is King?

Just not a very strong team.

Pretty much as expected, though they've set themselves apart maybe even a little earlier than expected. Porte's got his work cut out for him making up for lost time.

I understand they went for a long training camp later than usual. Perhaps they are lacking some race miles. Not sure.
