How can you say that when Quintana could not drop Contador and Porte was not much weaker than Contador yes they were close but what was the gap between Porte and Quintana? I dont think it was much considering Porte done all the pulling, and ill rephrase it as he is very young but by his standards i think many were thinking he would drop people like a stone today.

Not really. Nairo hasn't looked super strong lately. Not bad, but certainly not great. I didn't expect him to ride away from AC today.

ACs tts last year were not particularly good. Look at his palamares from 08-12. An AC in form will do a very good tt

Isn't it usual 9km chrono

Show me one who thought that lol.

He looked more comfortable to me than Porte today, np if you don't agree with that.

Not to start a discussion, but at that time, I thought he was juiced, right?

Yes thats fine i just dont see how you can come to that conclusion today but its your opinion dude.

That was an entertaining last 2km.

I think Saxo messed it up a little bit after playing it very well. Great tactics to use Kreuziger at first but then afterwards they messed it up like Nibali on Angliru by not really utilizing him when Contador had the chance to bridge. Should have just continued with him, he could have got the stage if he hadn't waited - and for Contador Kreuziger getting a stage is probably better than Contador getting the stage since its a reward to a loyal domestique. If it doesn't work Contador bridges to him.

Contador eventually got the stage win but not the time he could have on Kwiatkoswski.

Don't know how strong Contador was, if he had still energy left he should have tried earlier.

quintana pulled back a lot after san luis. he's definitely not near his top form. he surprised me positively. if he wa sin good form he would not look back after an attack but ride tempo until the others were dropped. quintana is not an explosive type

one question though. Kreuziger didn't chase when Quintana start to attack. I saw he was looking at Contador. If Kreuziger still have something on the tank don't you think he could win the sprint? I was just wondering.. Maybe contador was saving his leg too for the sprint? He didn't bridge himself to Kreuziger when Kreuziger started to circling. Kwiat was in difficulties at that point.

One important question: Where was Wiggins today? So sad to see how Porte has to do the work by himself because Bradley's entitlement can't allow him to break a sweat for others....
As I stated it since the beginning of the season-Porte is going to Italy with NO support at all....

Kreuziger was the strongest man today. Launched a brutal attack followed by a long solo ride. Then he slowed down to help Contador in his attack. And still managed to become fifth.

No. He had a 10 second or so lead when he started to slow down. The riders behind werent orchestrating a chase but looking at eachother. The strongest rider behind was his own teammate. If he had just kept ploughing on he definately would have had a chance.

I don't know. I think once it became clear that they were not going to distance Kwiatkowski on this slope (most of them were still in the big ring for a good portion of the climb), AC thought the 10 second bonus was most important. I think if Quintana had the legs to push on with his initial attack and bridge himself up to Roman, then we have a different story. I don't think Quintana had it and Contador really couldn't bring everyone to Roman (if AC couldn't win, then he would rather Roman win).

Mikel Nieve should have done a better job. And I think that Thomas will be going to Giro.

Yes i agree but man you gotta admit it's hilarious he is a fan of AC when he lives in clinic hoping for people to get busted all the time. The irony is staggering.

I dont get what i said bad though people watched this stage with blinkers on, the Asian please respond i only said what surely most of us saw and Porte was driving and the rest were wheelsucking? Am i wrong? So in theory Porte was very close to Cotador level dnt mean it's bad for Alberto does it pal.

Ah sorry dude, was busy gobbling my Dinner!

Anyway when Quintana and Contador attacked Porte certainly couldn't respond (and I Know It's not his style) and the chase group led by Porte only closed the gap on Quintana,Bertie,Scarponi & Kangert when these four began to play games and didn't go full stretch.

I have no doubt in my mind that if Bertie and Quintana went full gas they would have put at least 15-25 seconds more on Porte.

Kreuziger was without doubt the strongest today and your accusation that Bertie wheel sucked his way to victory is quite hilarious as you are conveniently ignoring the fact that Contador and Quintana launched an attack.

So, actually it seems you are the one who had blinkers on.

Funny how no one has noticed Moreno yet. He finished third. If he can get over the brutal penultimate climb tomorrow with the GC guys, he is the favorite to win the stage. The finish is perfect for him. Purito won that stage last year.
