I agree he is well overraced. What were they thinking sending him to Romandie?

Striking the iron while its still hot I guess? Saw he was on decent shape and wanted to squeeze everything out of him. The problem is, he still doesnt know his limits (as he himself admits) so this season is still for experimenting. Seeing how long he can hold the peak (seems like he can do it for a long time), how his recovery is (we will see by 3rd week but I am not sure if there was a single stage so far that he was saving himself....), and how his climbing progresses (same as last year or slightly worse but that could be due to too many racing days on high level). Next thing is to go for altitude training in the fall and I really hope he does that (in interview he said that now is not time for experiments (I think conversation took place in April), and tests like that should happen in the fall. Just not sure if he meant this year or in the future. I really think its time to do it though. If he could be just bit closer in LBL or AGR past the climbs (well, or if there wasnt a crash that slowed him in Liege) he would have won one already.

Searching that post about VDB having a better chance at the podium over Porte, Valverde and Co. LOL!

What I said was, it was ridiculous to mention people like Talansky and van Garderen and completely ignore VBD. Right now VDB is still in the lead group, Talansky isn't and they both crashed on the same day. So it is still ridiculous not to mention VDB while talking about Talansky at the same time.

I'm not sure if he'll podium, based on his ability he should, but his back was blocked 2 days ago, so it could still be bad today. Then again we don't exactly know the injuries of others in the peleton.
