I expect Froome will want to show everyone that he hasn't lost it. It's a long slog of a climb, I think it will suit him and unfortunately he'll win today.

It all looks pretty good for later in the year though, I don't think the tour will be a procession.

Sky should completely cancel Porte doing the Giro who cares about his feelings Porte is needed in July. Man its so hard to guage 1 minute i think it will be tough but then i thin Porte(sick Porte)did not get beat by much By Contador, and is Porte better than Froome? So surely Froome is just out of shape it surely wont stay like this?

I think it was a little more than that otherwise he'd have probably still done TA. He is just missing a bit of condition from missing that race. We may have to wait until the tour for the proper race between Froome v Contador. Unless Alberto is doing Dauphine?

Froome is close to his form. He is just 13 seconds adrift. It it was the TDF, it would not have matter, he can makeup that time in the ITT. Froome will seek revenge in this stage, it's much steeper and it will suit him. He should make his attack better so that he can pull away from the chase quicker and not let Purito and co sit on his wheel

I don't think it's quite as straight forward as that. If he'd had anything left in the tank he'd have followed the others when they attacked. Relax about Froome, he's only coming back from an injury and he'll find his form soon enough.

Completely agree about Porte, but mainly because without Henau, Sky have basically no one for the big mountains to help Froome.
Froome looked strong in Dubai, it seems like a blip to me.

Completely agree. I'm sure he'll bring out some more in the near future, like Cav for example. It's ridiculous.

It makes a lot more sense for cyclists than many other pursuits - there is genuine interest in hearing a detailed description of just one season, and there are some stages which can be chapters on their own.
