You must have missed this years spring season. Valverde 2014 is actually a very active rider.

unfortunately, Yates just applied what is now the common strategy, just send a rider with the attackers to sabotage their efforts. We saw this a lot during the ardennaises...

Not sure that is the case in this break; Yates bridged to a solo attack and was working pretty hard - at least until Valverde arrived.

I would have thought Orica could have forced Giant to work.
