Agreed, but the GC will? What next, all GC guys will do intermediate sprints just because they can? Because one think he is smarter than the other? The move was funnier than smart. It has zero relevance in any jersey competition.

Froome's losses from TTT being decreased by 2 seconds suggest otherwise. Who the hell knows by how much GC is going to be decided? It was a smart move by all means. Gaining time at marginal costs. And yeah, would be awesome if GC guys went for intermediate sprints if sprinters dont care about them enough.

True, the move itself likely will not influence any jersey. It also is a rare occurrence because it requires a small breakaway and a race that awards bonus seconds. Therefore, I don't envision this starting a new trend. IMO, I would only give points and not secs at intermediate sprints.
