Stage 4

Vincente Reynes instantly becomes a very good buy for Comodoro and Crevaison (minimum 61.5% return, would have made his the 13th best return in the Tour), while yesterday's top scorer Matthews again comes up trumps for Josedin and LosBrolin. Dan Martin's many investors again reap a yield that might not have been expected, and this time it is Aru who provides 1 point of consolation for the masses.

i think Martin might become this year's Horner. I am already kicking myself for choosing Kelderman over Dan Martin.

I'm hoping so. I just need Aru to be Nibali

That said Martin in a much more likely Horner than Horner was - if you see what I mean!

Thanks for trying, tomorrow will be a crucial day for all us, specially for me so dependent on Pistolero.

Thanks for this: I am away from home so only logging on v briefly, can't confirm these at the moment, but no reason to doubt it either. Today may be more significant, so will try to grab some time alone with my spreadsheet (oo-err missus) this evening.

i made the attempt thinking abt AC's post.

Today is extra crucial. Fan in me wants Pistolero to win the stage and lead GC. The player in me wants Nairito and Froome to reach a sec behind Kelderman in the finish (oc, Kelderman wins).
Today will be the first major battle between Quintana and JRod.

Happy to confirm that Murali was accurate on the low scoring day yesterday: top 10 (well, 11 because of a tie) last night was virtually unchanged, with top 2 increasing their lead and Roude Leiw moving up slightly.

The two leaders retain their positions, but were today the bottom two scorers, so their vulnerability in the mountains seems to be uncovered (although better days for Uran could keep both of them in touch)
The positional changes are not enormous: only one new team in the top ten, and that only a rise from 12th to 9th.

Today really shook the GC. I think Hugo87's bet was worth it.

This is indeed a good sign for him, but in the end I think Quintana will end up higher than Contador. Interesting Vuelta, that is.

Murali seems to have covered all the scores again: thanks to him for those couple of days.

CN are being horribly inconsistent with the names they are giving riders, and failing o list some finishers, which is causing havoc to my spreadsheet that worked pretty well during the Tour, but I eventually got there for the first projected sores update.

The top twenty projected riders (for those new, this means stage scores and leadership points that are guaranteed, plus points allocated for GC position and points and mountains categories as though nothing were to change in those rankings for the rest of the race)

Had Anacona at the Giro game, he was useless and know he does this.

Edit - At least I wasn't wrong with Contador, it could payoff very well.

Really happy with my Colombian trio. Only problem is that some other guys have them as well, with possibly better other riders.

A very volatile table: only 4 of yesterday's top ten retain their places, and new entrants come from as low as 46th yesterday.

If you have any Europcar rider, you may find that your score in the projected scores table has changed.

CN this morning published an interview with Romain Sicard, discussing his ambitions for the rest of the Vuelta, which caught my eye as I had been using their results listings, so had been lead to believe that he had DNFed on stage 7. Investigation revealed that they have made a pig's ear of all the Europcar results, but luckily Europcar have not achieved many high placings.

If you have Sicard, your score has increased by 42; if you chose Nauleau, you've just lost 15 (and won't win any more, as he has gone home), and if you have Berhane, you are 17 points down, as he is 177th in GC, not 31st.

If you have Dan Craven, you are not third in the mountain rankings, so you've lost 25 points: the converse is true for teams who have Cousin.

This is going to be a pain if I have to double check all CN's results for accuracy.
