Sprinters again. Doesn't seem hard enough to drop the sprinters, though I'm not sure about the difficulty of the final climbs, the 4th category and the uncategorised one after. Maybe an attack off the front could be on the cards.

The Cote de la Marquise is 1.3km long at 6.7%. So the other one will be even easier. I think we can assume that most sprinters will survive those.

It's kind of strange that Lampre let Modolo go home before this stage, especially as he was in the green jersey. OK, I read that it was their arrangement to go for the first two stages, but under the circumstances, why wouldn't they want to exploit the publicity that goes along with it? Or not worth it?

The team had a statement that he left the race for personal issues, and seeing Modolo his last tweet it could have something to do with that.

He was extremely tired after the Giro. He tried to give Dauphiné a shot, but he just didn't had the energy.

You missed him adding a KM to the total distance between the start and end of his sprint.

PS: What's even funier about your prediction is that Froome actually got a good placement in last year's Tour stage 1 when Cav played bowling with the field.

Martijn Keizer and Tosh van der Sande on the attack. So both Lotto's out there, but they don't stand a chance obviously. Just hoping that the length of the stage and all the uncategorized climbs will soften the legs of the sprinters and their teams so that something might happen on the last hill of the day. Just wishful thinking though, hard to see Bouhanni not taking this one.

Pouring rain at the finish atm. This could be a similar scenario to the 1st stage with plenty of attacks on and after the climb that have a chance to stick.
