Will Froome try something? It will be very hard to still beat Tejay in gc, but there's some hard kms midway the final climb.

The fight for third is still wide open. Heck, on such a stage do not put aside the possibility of riders going bonkers again. It's going to be cloudy throughout the day, with some thunderstorms between 12pm and 3pm. The profile is more similar to last year's stage ending in Courchevel than friday's, it's the last day, some riders got nothing to lose and know if they stay with the main pack for the last climb they won't have a shot at the stage win. BMC won't be able to control a stong break, and all you need is Sky on a not-so-good day, or put under pressure without a clue of what to do. It wouldn't be the first time. Nibali and Valverde, for instance, seemed to have riden their own calm tempo up today's finish, and knowing they went berserk they day after having failed miserably on Pra Loup, it's possible they will try the win tomorrow from far away.

Point is, the race is not over. And there's no reason to think it's now only between Tejay and Froome. Last year, in here, no one saw Talansky coming, and a week later people were also grieving over Tony Martin taking the overall at Suisse, until the last day.

Tejay ftw. And unlike Talansky last year, he'll be at least the second strongest guy.

Hope he didn't peak for the Dauphine and can be stronger at the Tour. I'm going to be shocked if he can truly hang with the best there though.

Re: 2015 Dauphiné, stage 8: Mont Blanc > Modane Valfréjus 15

It's a pity that this stage is too easy to isolate GC contenders from their domestiques early, because otherwise I would expect aggresive racing and some top10 GC riders trying to replicate last year's Talansky's move.
