Well that should be a super fast TTT. If the wind is right most likely it will be the fastest TTT of all time.
there was a ttt in the vuelta a chile in 2006 where they did 61 km/h over 14 km believe it or not. heavily doped and with good wind though

Which riders do you think the different teams able to win the TTT will put in maglia rosa? My guess is: Orica: Bling and Sky: Viviani (Puccio). Difficult to predict the others, but I think comes down to a fight between Orica and Sky anyway.

I've forgotten the narrow roads might hamper the speed a bit.
Just under18 minutes should be the mark if the weather conditions aren't totally unfavourable.

Frankly, this looks like a recipe for disaster. What if a team has a wipe out taking that chicane? The team car is going to block the route attending to the fallen. That means that the following team are going to be held up and so on and so on.

I think there's a real chance that the stage will be neutralized.

Why are people wanting Basso to take pink? Surely someone else in TS who will never wear it again would be the best option.

I dont like the dangerous TTT.

Quite technic, so it will be a lottery.

If Basso is among the remaining riders at the end, maybe that means Saxo is not going to win... He must do two sprints in the front and later drop. Of course he could keep sucking wheell without push, but that way the team has no chances to win.

He is italian , he is quite a myth there, he is now a domestique, and maybe they want to give him that present, but the team it is just focused in take seconds for Contador.

I took a look at the list and the only three that would make any sense to me would be Basso, Rogers, or Tosatto. Maybe Boaro? But he's kind of young. Rogers doesn't fit well either, besides him being road captain and such. If it really is down to Tosatto and Basso, I'd give it to Tosatto then have him drop it for Basso in the next few stages. Two old italian cyclists, probably loved by the italian fans. Makes sense to me. :)

yeah, with the hundreds of teams shooting past every 10 seconds...

this time trial is not dangerous or something, there are only a few technical passages on 17.5k, and plenty of time and opportunities to do a recon. If teams still fail in the end, it's nothing but their own fault.

Basso, Rovny and Paulinho should get dropped imo. Tosatto might be there at the end, it would be so cool if he could take the jersey :p

Re: 2015 Giro d'Italia, stage 1: S.Lorenzo al Mare – Sanremo

Orica odds on favourites for this and I can see why, they will be most willing to take risks on this narrow course. Sky for a 2nd, Movistar to fails as they arn't in Spain?

Lovely day here in San Lorenzo. Sunny and warm. They could get some headwind but nothing to worry about. The TTT is actually not that technical, so I doubt there will be any disaster. Of course a team could mess up like Garmin last year but I don't think it's likely.

they'll be going with a 5 mins gap... something must go really wrong for that to happen.
