Can someone tell me why, like seemingly every race shown by Italian broadcasters, they can't keep a shot going for more than 5 seconds before it freezes? Even in really bad weather you rarely see this happening on French or Belgian broadcasts.

I think I'll just watch who reaches the top of the Poggio first and then turn of the tv. I don't really care who wins he sprint.

Nowadays it even does not matter who gets first to the Poggio in this "Best Wheelsucker" contest, not selective enough to drop sprinters, can be even Cav (for shame). Wish some DS have courage to order carnage on Cipressa already.

II was obviously saying that tongue in cheek. I just hope that for once an attacker gets rewarded, which isn't often the case in Sanremo...

Depends what you define as 'an attacker'. Small group like in 2012 or 2013? or a solo win like Fabian in 2008? I'd say that in recent years the attackers have been rewarded, if you count out last year. The Via Roma finish should favour a late attack even more this year

IMO, this is one of the most over-rated races on the calendar.

It depends. If you ask random Danes, most don't even know MSR, rather they think FW or AGR is more prestigious. Entertainment wise it's probably the worst of the monuments but compared to other races, it's OK.

It's easily in my personal top5 favourite races, probably in part because of its position in the calendar, don't know how other people see it.

I think its one of the most boring classics (like sex, even bad sex is good!). There is little development during the race compared to the other classics

The monuments have something for everyone, and MSR is a key part of that format
