I'm not a huge rugby union fan (but decided to watch because Australia had a chance). It was a good game, and the All Blacks were just too good- composed, hard hitting and very fast to tackle which resulted in us being pinned back.
It's also nice to see Carter retire having won a WC.

many people here had given up on Dan and thought he was starting to break down (his body) and was well past his best

to get back to the playing level he is at and overcome all the injuries and set backs is a true testament to the man!

you could tell from the emotion during and after the game how much all that meant to him.....now he gets to go live and play in France with a very nice pay cheque :D

Your opinion on Man of the Match?

I think Beale, Pocock, Hooper, Milner-Skudder, Nonu and McCaw all had great games, but Carter for me.
Carter was MoM by far, he directed the All Blacks magnificently. McCaw and Nonu were also standouts.

A close call between Pocock and Savea for player of the tournament IMO.

Savea running a bit hot and cold for my liking......an obvious standout game against France, but.....

Pocock in a class of his own imho, very fair player and by all accounts a real gentleman off the pitch

Nice little video of the favourite tries from the World Cup included :)

Dan Carter named IRB World Rugby Player of the year for the 3rd time - not a bad way to finish off your international career!
All Blacks named team of the year for 6th year running... :D

Complete domination since end of Graham and all of Hansen. Well deserved too. But with with Nonu, Smith (Conrad), Carter and maybe McCaw retiring, Sonny Bill taking next year off to focus on Sevens and winning gold in the Olympics then probably taking 2017 off to try to win the only thing missing from his collection (Rugby League World Cup) maybe there is hope for other sides too now.

Thought I'd bump this thread with the ongoing 6 nations. Atm I'm raging at the referees of Italy vs Ireland, which Ireland are winning deservedly and very easily, as the last two Ireland tries have come from forward passes in midfield. One was marginal, one less so and one disgustingly obvious, like more than 5 meters forward. England have been transformed and my bet for a Grand Slam.

Very much so. I enjoy watching England now. I feel we still lack a incisiveness in attack and discipline in defence. 12-13 penalties a game is not good enough. A yellow a game is also not good enough. Fitness needs to improve too, and iron out stupid mistakes like Ford kicking the ball at Biggar in his 22 and then they can go to Australia and actually fight for the series win.

I haven't seen any 6 Nations Rugby at all, although I read the results this morning.

We have just started with Super Rugby which is a tough ask right now....we had 33 Deg C the other day and I was watching cricket!!
The footy season in NZ is way too long
