as funny as the giro was, I have a feeling this tour is going to go be the most alien GT in a very long time. Bring it on.

Good thread idea.

It's not doping but: remember how Cadel was at Paris-Roubaix wearing a BMC vest and standing at the roadside with spare wheels? I very much hope Tejay punctures on the cobble stage, and Cadel is right there with wheels, but just turns and walks away.

They really need to pop Froome this year. It's gone on far too long already.

Hopefully Cadel gives TJ his bike. Would make for great imagery

Because Cadel owes him, that's why.

Great thread title. I think everyone has shifted their expectations in attunement to the manifest nuclear reality.

This year has set us up for something late 90's esque.

Pro cycling is totally humorous! The bald-faced hypocrisy is totally amazing. You really can't make this stuff up.

So Froome looks he did his training camp in Auschwitzand he's letting the press know that with today's advanced training, they can go quicker than Indurain, Riis and Pantani in the 90s.

For full and safe enjoyment of this year's Tour de Fukushima is it strongly advised to get protective equipment. I'm ready for the spectacle.

What happens if you watch without protection?

Acute Radioation Syndrome. The severity of the symptoms depends on just how much mutant radiation one is exposed to. This is usually measured in Gray, a unit of ionized radiation, but we can convert things to the more interpretable unit AST (Alpe ascent time) and get the following table of symptoms (Ashenden et al 2013):

>40 min. Mild nausea and boredom. Moderate chance of delusion that the riders are cleans
39-40min: Rising blood pressure due to excitement. They're going pretty quick in the bio passport era.
38-39min: Risk of asphyxiation due to excessive laughing. They are going comically quick.
<38: Full ***. Nervous breakdown. High chance of permanent disillusionment with cycling
