Not sure what the big deal about the Alpe being on the day before the arrival, in 2009 Ventoux changed nothing...

Higher TV ratings for the final weekend.

The Alpe stage looks bad, the other mountain stages don't look that bad, i expected something worse, even if they are far to short. But maybe thats just me having zero faith in ASO.

Overall route is ok bar the lack of iTT. Some decent stages and interesting first week if it's windy on top of the cobbles and Mur.

Time bonuses can do one. No place for them here, leave them to the other GT's.

Chaussy included on the La Toussuire stage!

No climb up to Longchamps tough. The Glandon stage is also somewhat underwhelming with only La Morte and Montvernier. Lots more flat between Chaussy and the beginning of Croix-de-Fer than I thought too. Still, this is probably the hardest stage this year. Either that or PdB.

Biggest disappointment is still nothing before La Pierre St. Martin. Although I like the PDB stage more than I expected.

Without TT and with bonus seconds we are in for a treat.... What a disgrace. This route isn't good for anybody really....and the worst for Froome obviously as he is the best flat TT.

f**** and they give bonus seconds ! this is the last straw. I am utterly gutted. This is a bad Vuelta, not even a normal Vuelta, just a bad Vuelta.

Better than nothing.

Are there any downhill finishes?

Lacets de Montvernier into St. Jean de Maurienne might count (a little flat before the end though not much). Couldn't see the Gap stage so it's probably the Manse descent too.

as I said yesterday... this is the new benchmark that we'll use in years to come to measure how much you can **** up a GT route.
Only good news is the cobbled stage. all the rest, ALL, is even worse than I expected.

The Cobbles and the TTT look bad for him, but otherwise the route looks great for Purito, if he's in 2012/13 shape.

Froome's participation in the 2015 Tour de France is not certain, as he explains: "The team and I will have to give it some careful consideration before we make any commitments to which of the grand tours I will compete in. I see myself as quite a balanced GC rider and the Giro with it's inclusion of a long TT of 60km and tough uphill finishes will make it a well balanced race which suits me well. If I did the Giro I may also be able to get myself back to top shape for the Vuelta and go there with a realistic chance of aiming for the win".

They'd already said they wouldn't do it in the Le Quotidien article that was posted yesterday minutes before the route leaked. Due to a dangerous descent in ASO's opinion. There is a different climb before Allos but I couldn't identify it. Suffice to say, it's much easier...

I wish he really meant it. But most likely money will win and he'll go to the Tour as everybody else.

+ A cobblestone stage even if the pavees are far from stage finish.
+ Several uphill finishes
+ Bonus seconds
+ The La Toussuiere stage is fairly good
+ "New" MTF in Pierre St.Martin and Pra Loup.

- Where is the TT kms?
--- Most of the mountain stages are really not very good. No queen stage.

What a total and utter crock of ****e.

Is ASO trying to give Pinot and Rolland the victory by making everyone else go to Giro instead!
