Cobbles seem to be the first few that they use in Paris Roubaix. The ones they use before Arenberg.

With this route, I think Nibali has a good chance of repeating his victory. I personally like it, but it's not very Tour De France-y.

I really didn't expect that much cobbled kilometers. An already promising stage has just got better. A nice addition, but the overall impression stays pale.

Are we allowed to complain about this route? How bad must it be before people stop whining about our calling it as it is?

Time to revive the "Unipublic way" thread and include ASO in it...

Cobbles before the TTT is crazy.
Having a late TTT is crazy.
Lack of ITT is crazy.
Too many muritos is crazy.

Some decent mountain finishes, but there I would like two real mountain stages with 200km or more.

This is the worst GT route I have ever seen.

I doubt it, I think he would fare better with a bit of variation, I think his best asset is his versatility and race instinct.

It's a very bad route for little Q. Lost of costal windy stages and cobbles. They might have to send Valverde again.

Why on earth don't they include Latrape and Agnes between Core and Port de Lers? So stupid.

I'm trying to find the trigger of excitement and spectacle in the route, but somehow it eludes me.
Could be even more tense race than usually and the teams' composition might be crucial.
Maybe that's the story of this parcours.

Agree!

And could also have designed the Pra Loup stage better. Doing Cayolle-Champs-Allos before Pra Loup. That is if the descent from Champs isn't too risky.

PdB stage is classic Vuelta queen.

LOL true,

With this route Froome should go to the giro, i'm actually sure he will. He'll still ride the tour but putting everything on the tour is not smart at all.

You know ASO is putting a lot of their hope on the alpe stage thinking it'll have the same effect as 3 years ago.

But they're fools, that part before alpe can kill you if you go early.

The only reason why it was a success 3 years ago was because the most agressive/best rider of this generation was put behind minutes the stage before and decided to put everything on the line FTW.

Something like that doesn't occur often and the parcours was irrelevant. Contador would have gone early on anything that resembled a mountain.

It was successful because said aggressive rider did the giro and was more tired for the tour.

This year said aggressive rider is....

Might be their logic.
