Why did Cav go for the 11 points in the intermediate sprint but have no interest in the 30 points for second at the end?
He was probably f**Ed, and he can't sprint uphill, aero disadvantage.

Great team huddle by Etixx at the end

is it too premature to state that Froome has secured today half of the tour title already?

I think his team will lose time on the TTT.

And there's still this, nibali and Contador will go ham for sure on that.

Nobody wanted the stage???

Few riders were better sprinters than Tony Martin, so I am surprised that they let him go!!!

It's not like you can just decide to pull Tony Martin back in a situation like this.

Indeed! Not that easy to pull back someone who is smashing out 600 watts!

Can you imagine the motivation Tony must have had?! :D

It's a miracle that he didn't crash yesterday or today. By miracle I mean the camera caught him in some situations where he almost crashed

It's his Tour de France to loose right now. Quintana, Nibali and likely Contador can't drop him on the MTF, so we should see some good racing in the 2nd week already.

Froome did great today, really. But it was pretty nerve-racking to follow him around peloton when he lost the wheel of Thomas and had to find room for himself. Man... Contador on the other hand is no good to follow his team.

Its funny if Nibali gets nudged into the kerb abd just keeps it upright u all say ' great bike handling!!', when it happenes to Froome u all say he's a muppet!
Did you see when Gallopin (not sure it was him, but a Lotto-Soudal for sure) almost put him out of the road and he managed to stay on his bike and gently push him on the left?

Those two were completely different maneuvers. I am trying to be objective but Froome is not the best bike handler in the peloton. He seems to be really fit and that helps him a lot.

Feel sorry for Sagan having do all of chasing work
If contador did not have the strength he would not have been up in that group, this was successful day for contador today, he rode fine, besides isn't that Sagan's job? To look after Contador.

well tinkoff could buy someone else for 4M euro less to look after contador
Well, that's there choice. They said all along Contador is there first focus. These kind of stages, anything can happen, sometimes at no fault of your own. Contador for the most part was up front when he had to be

lol, one was an act of incredibly ability because a rider in front of him changed direction substantially. Whereas Froome....

Pleased that Tony Martin won, apart from that the usual anticlimax delivered by the TdF, the boringmost grand tour. Great expectations of a selection amongst the favourites, didn't materialize. Wish I hadn't wasted the time to watch it. More boring stages ahead, until at long last the mountains loom in a week from now. The hill of Huy is none. What a difference to the Giro where Tinkoff and Astana exploded the peloton on the first, still flat stages. What a difference to the Vuelta, where there are real climbs in the first days.

Wonder how much time Froome would have lost if he had crashed when he nearly got knocked off by the Katusha rider
You mean when he nearly knocked down half of the peloton?!

Now being touted as great bike handler on Eurosport.
