Wonder how much time Froome would have lost if he had crashed when he nearly got knocked off by the Katusha rider

You mean how he nearly knocked himself off when desperatly trying to find a gap between a cruising Katusha rider and the sidewalk.

I see the Froome haters are out in full force around the small incident... probably having to focus on that cause he hasn't lost any time as they would have hoped.

He did well, give the guy come credit. Same with all of the GC contenders

Pleased that Tony Martin won, apart from that the usual anticlimax delivered by the TdF, the boringmost grand tour. Great expectations of a selection amongst the favourites, didn't materialize. Wish I hadn't wasted the time to watch it. More boring stages ahead, until at long last the mountains loom in a week from now. The hill of Huy is none. What a difference to the Giro where Tinkoff and Astana exploded the peloton on the first, still flat stages. What a difference to the Vuelta, where there are real climbs in the first days.

Last 3 Stages have been pretty good !

It's not that "cool" to hate on the Tour, just so you know. And this has been a really good four stages I'd say. Just too bad about that crash yesterday.

They all rode well. The only disappointment would have to be with Nibali, who is still 1 minute back of Contador and 1:30 back of Froome. Now he will be forced to attack them in the mtns., and it will be tough to take back time on either.

Indeed but definitely makes for an exciting race! All of the Big 4 still have a realistic chance of winning the Tour and I reckon TJVG has an outside shot at pipping one or two of them as well.

Indeed. Same with Quintana. People said he would lose minutes, and he did just fine. Too bad that Pinot and Martin lost so much but otherwise, I think it was a great stage. Tony winning and taking yellow…damn, thats something!

I think the opening stages have been great. Great TT course. Great windy course. Great hilly classic stage. Great cobbled stage.

Cycling hipster ftw. Cheer up lad, I'm sure tomorrow's stage in the Tour of Qinghai Lake will be great.

:D great answer

Great cobbled stage. Lol you are joking right? It was indistinguishable from a normal sprint stage.

I wish I were you though and found the concept of watching the entire peloton ride in a big group with no gaps for 4 hours exciting. You must experience in every single stage of every single race what I experience when I watch Paris Roubaix.

Of course Quintana didn't lose minutes. Those calculations were made by people who were expecting a real cobbled stage, not this.

All the contenders big and small except for Pinot made it to the front group, so it makes little sense to say any of them did particularly well. Turns out being in that group was the bare minimum.

There wasn't really a lot they could have done today. The headwind, dry weather and relatively easy cobbles made it almost impossible to attack. Even Vanmarcke didn't manage to create any gaps when he went full gas. Nibali tried but it was just an impossible task today.
