LLS has won the overall and stages here before and usually has good early season form.

Ahh the good old days.

What do people think of Evans chances? He needs to win if he wants to retire in style. :)
I think he'll definitely top 5. He should have won GC last year if he didn't try to follow Porte on Wilunga and if Gerrans wasn't such a wheelsucking leech.

Haussler, lol.
Anyway we are talking about a rider presentation here.
Mingle, drink a foster.
Waterski up the river, barbie.

Why would you put yourself through drinking Fosters beer? :p

At least all other World Tour events have free HD streams for everyone...

I actually can't think of one that does? At least not since those Swiss suits ****ed RCS.

So Sunday is the Marcel Kittel show I mean opening Crit anyone else have a hope in hell?
With his current form and the relative strength of his team, Steele von Hoff should be able to sneak into the finish photo, maybe Haussler as well...

Apart from them it's down to Wippert, Ferrari and Renshaw/Meersman.

There's a surprising amount of good riders who could go for GC though

Isn't TDU a World Tour event?

Therefore I'm assuming that nothing less then Tour of California style Tracker with high def stream, start to finish coverage will be available for our entertainment.

Or am I wrong and I will have to watch same lame second hand low quality stream on some HaHa website using Hola plugin to fake my Geo presence just to see the last 20km?

And I thought the TDU was the greatest, best organized, most popular race ever ... silly me

Nah, organisers are actually trying to make money off of a week long race. Silly them!

Whilst it might taste like the byproduct of a cat, it's a step up on West End (the standard Adelaide beer). Coopers .... well that's another matter entirely :D

Some of the Coopers Ales and Lagers are quite nice, if that is your sort of beer.

I think the closest is that the Tour can be streamed online in good quality legally as long as you are in France...

But that ofc didn't stop Jancouver from blaming TDU for something all WT races have in common.

I have to agree, I should have blamed UCI for not making the TV coverage and online streams mandatory for all WT events.

Its so pathetic that in 2015 where every dumb %$#$ on YouTube is capable of having live shows and streaming is so easy that when you have what supposedly is a top race in multi-billion dollar industry and you have no coverage.

Where is the Velon group? It should be their priority and their responsibility to promote all sponsors during these WORLD TOUR races.

No wonder cycling is so far behind when the UCI and most teams are run by business amateurs.

Teams should say, " We only go to Australia, China etc if you put these races on TV and make them available online so our sponsors can benefit from us racing there."

Just PATHETIC!

Every dumbass on youtube carries his own little camera or has his pc record what is happening on his screen.

Broadcasting a cycling race needs a wee bit more than a little camera or just a pc......

I also would like to see everything live on the tele, but your post is just is a bit simpleminded.

Porte the man to beat but as Gerrans showed winning by the least possible last year it can be very close and luck plays its part

Sorry, but we are in 2015 and every stupid little sporting event is on TV or at least online. Even local crits like Dana Point are LIVE online!

You are talking "the best" of cycling and its not on TV? what is it? 1960? Gimmi a break! Every dumbass with an iPhone can do a live streaming video.

As TV coverage goes, road racing, especially stage racing is about as expensive and technical as it gets. It's certainly not a case of a couple of cameramen on motorbikes and it magically appears on your screen.

There is more money in exclusive TV rights than giving away content for free, and due to the fractured and conservative nature of the sport it's unlikely to be anytime soon that organisers have the desire for platforms to deliver content for a fee. A lot of people still think old media conglomerates can lead you to glory.

Some people expect to receive everything for free. Not a good business model for the suppliers. I don't think it has anything to do with being conservative. It is odd that Eurosport which covers races in the USA and China amongst other places won't screen the TDU. Channel 9 has the exclusive Australian rights that SBS used to have which usually means that Eurosport Pacific would not screen it just like when the SBS screens the Tour. Does Eurosport cover the race in Europe ?

Rubbish, if the sport wasn't so conservative race organisers (read ASO/RCS/FCNV) would have adopted models along the lines of those that US sports have been very successful with for years. Have they compromised TV deals? No. Have they provided an additional revenue stream? Yes. Have they greatly increased access to the sport? Yes. The very fact that Amaury and RCS are old media themselves is probably a contributing factor.

HF-Complex-Long-Distance-Systepg

That's kinda complicated. They could go motorbike-->helicopter-->cell tower-->youtube--> all viewers.
