Janover take it somewhere else please its getting old, the Tour Down Under is on many channels and we all have ways of seeing it, free access isnt always answer when money for tv coverage needs to be recouped.

Trying to figure out if there is enough tricks in stage 1 to upset kittel.

Many channels?
Excellent! I'm very excited to hear this great news! Way to go TDU!
Can you please provide the list of "many" channels I can watch it on TV here in the US?

Thank you for your help!

Been out for quite some time, have been watching a bit too much cricket lately.
Hope Cadel gets his farewell victory although I feel porte is going to win it.

Seems like most people would be happy if I would just soften the the words and call things in a way that would make every Aussie and every cycling fan that doesn't care about the race quality happy.

The race is not terrible > the race is just awful.
The race field is not bad > the field is just bellow average
The race course is boring
The race stages are too short
The race weather (usually) is too hot for bike racing (therefore short stages)
The race environment is unappealing
The race is amateurishly organized
The race TV coverage is unsatisfactory (because is amateurishly organized)
The race is too far for most teams
The race is at the wrong time
The race is is Aussies Nationals 2.0
The race fans are obnoxious and unfriendly
The race is attended by WT teams because it is mandatory
The race should be downgraded to 2.1
The race should be moved to another continent or cancelled

TT would not help as it would make the race boring anyway because the race would be targeted by just a few TT specialist ... therefore boring.

How would you know?

I'm hoping Pozzovivo shows well on the hillier stages after his injuries last year.

I'm tipping Thomas de Gendt and Tom Dumoulin to get amongst the favourites.

The live Sky tv coverage starts at 1.30am UK time. I'll post a link later if I'm still around and can find one..

Strong break with Westra, Drubridge, Bobridge, and Belkov. All quite strong TT'ers, wonder if they'll be caught easily.

That's a seriously annoying break for the boys who will be stuck on the front of the bunch all day.

They're holding it steady at around 60s with 48km to go. It won't stick but the peloton will really have to work to pull it back.

The stream is working, thanks!

Will Orica ever stop wasting Durbridge in those meaningless breaks?

You're welcome :)

Probably not

Personally, I want to see Durbridge go to a Benelux team soon so he can learn from the best for the classics. He's an amazing bike handler and has potential to do very well.

Things could really split up by teams like Orica and IAM to get rid of Kittel on Checkers Hill
There's almost certainly too much flat afterwards though. Giant, Drapac and Etixx will put their guys on the front as soon as Kittel, Wippert and Renshaw get over and Sky will most likely help out too.

They've had similar finishes in the past to this stage where only a small group has got to the finish. Sky certainly won't work for SUtton when they have Porte for GC

Sky will want to keep Porte in the lead group though, just to avoid any nasty surprises. Also, don't forget that Westra is in the break. If he's willing to dig deep, he could make something unexpected happen. There's a good amount of firepower off the front.
