Why not? It's about time we get back to the 100km of TTs we were used to. You only need tons of climbs to balance it out.

Imagine Quintana and Berto having to overcome a 4-6 minutes gap to Froome in the mountains.

I agree with you, but ASO seems to hate extremely long and hard mouuntain stages, i can already hear the likes of Spartacus and Kittel cry about the route being way to hard. If you have close to 100 km of itts, the rest of the race should be designed by Zomegnan :)

So first Nice -> Saint-Martin -> Couillole -> Valberg -> Champs -> Allos -> Pra-Loup, then Digne -> Bonette and then the next day something like Barcelonnette -> Vars -> Montgenèvre -> Cenis(as I take it that the finish will be in Savoie, France) -> Destination unknown.

This sounds way too good to be true :O

edit: If the third stage will finish in Val-d'Isère with Iseran, it'll be a true altitudefest. Way too good to be true :(

It's also incompatible with the rumor that the queen stage would feature Alpe d'Huez. Needless to say, that honor would go to the Bonette stage then (unless they make it essentially a one-climb stage)
They already use all the other climbs around it in different stages, so it'll be a short one-climb stage, if the article is to be believed.

Edit: As for Alpe, maybe they do a fourth mountain stage in a row and that'll be the queen stage?

Col de la Bonette would be awesome but surely there isn't enough space up there? Would be a logistical nightmare and they'd have to leave things in Jausiers or even Isola... not that I'm complaining mind.

You can see the road around the Cime de la Bonette in the picture. It's long enough to place most of the vehicles.

that's not pau for sure.

don't care that it was in paris-nice,le tour is something else

I don't really care for the usual flat Tour finish, though, which kills some of the action. I'm okay with some false flat, but it's too much for such a short climb, IMO.

The last time there was some drama when Contador helped chase down Vino - just a coincidence really - but other than that is wasn't that great.

It's not a problem, even if there's not enough space. The Galibier stage showed that they can easily get around that.
